Cold Dark Souls: A Dark Reverse Harem Romance (Cruel Black Hearts)

I absolutely loved this book. It’s so dark, morbid, and twisted yet I can’t get enough but I’m still questioning my sanity. Just like in the first book, I find myself rooting for the bad guys, AKA the serial killers, Assassins, and murderers. I couldn’t wait for Stella to see her present from Lincoln and Edward in the basement and was truly hoping she would react the way Edward hoped. Maybe I should be on psych meds? 🤷🏻‍♀️ I shouldn’t love this twisted and macabre story as much as I did but that just means the author did an awesome job right?We learn more about Killian and The Angel Maker in this book. We are able to read chapters from their POV. I was super excited when Stella found out who the Angel Maker really was but her reaction wasn’t quite what I had expected.We also learn a little bit more about Stella and why she is the way she is. I knew this story would lead to the mental health topic but wasn’t sure how it would all play out. I’m still wondering about the direction the author will go with Stella and her mental illness in the next book.The sex scenes are steamy, dirty, and depraved (occasionally). I noticed a majority of them were told from either Lincoln’s or Edward’s POV which I enjoyed because I could read what they were thinking in those moments where emotions tend to run high.I cannot wait to see what happens next in this series. Another fantastic book by Candace!!

I love that the author did this book as a multi-POV. Seeing inside of each persons head was needed when Stella wasn’t always the most intuitive when it comes to social cues, her surroundings, or feelings.Throughout Cold Dark Souls, several big things happen.1) Lincoln is screwed....Mr. I don’t care about anyone but Ed is in his own way in love with Stella. Ed I think was almost at insta-love status blooming from his obsession with her but Lincoln took a bit longer, though still in a very short time. Poor guy never saw it coming lol.2) Stella has a mental disorder and is off her meds. I love how the guys agree to start getting her back on them even as they fear she might not like them once she’s level. That in itself shows how much they care because they want her healthy despite their fears of rejection.3) We find out who the Angel Maker is and I can’t say it’s a surprising revelation. I’m still not sold on him like I am Edward and Lincoln but we’ll see what happens in book three.🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤/ 5 Black Hearts to not only this series so far but the author for creating a world so dark, different, and captivating that you can’t put it down.

I don't think I quite enjoyed this second book as much as the first, but it was certainly still a great read. I found quite a bit of repetition, both from the first book (somewhat naturally considering series installments are often read months apart or more) and within this book (less understandable because there's no need to repeat, say, a description throughout the same book or her dislike for her family), that distracted somewhat from the experience. Beyond that I really enjoyed the story. There's a lot of unique twists and turns that really pull you in. The characters are unique and interesting, the story is crazy and unlike anything else I've read, and I'm looking forward to reading the next book.

While I had my suspensions in the first book, this second in the series has blow me away. I could not put this down and I devoured it in a few hours. I needed the answers, and now I feel like I'm overwhelmed because I can't even comprehend what could be revealed in the next book. My thoughts are misfiring. Stella and her psychopaths are absolutely everything. They are more than perfect. The love and devotion to eachother is unimaginable. But not everything has been revealed and I have a feeling this bliss may be threatened.

This book started off strong and continued the first book. But somewhere in the middle it got a little lost for me. The end got better and, ended like I thought it would. Not sure what direction this series is going in, but I hope it stays dark.

This is a dark story line. Violence and sexual violence are a given. Sexual satisfaction increasing with violence is also a given with no sparkling vampires to rationalize the blood. That being said there is still a certain type of topping from the bottom and feminine power.

I’m being generous but it is better than the last one..... Maybe I’m not a fair reviewer because this type of book (romance of sorts) is not usually my thing.

This book isn’t as good as the first one. But it is still messed up. I am really interested in finding out how it ends.

book 2 in the cruel black hearts series a dark RH book. this book is even better than the first book Stella is with Edward and Lincoln who have a very special present in there basement just for Stella and they are hoping that she will react how Edward wants her to and that is to join them in killing and she does and she enjoys inflecting plain and making what she thinks is her first kill of a person. but then we have the Angle Maker who we find out is her boss Killian but he wants stella all to himself and wants to get rid off Lincoln and Edward so he can make her his. the book is very twisted and dark story and i loved it am not sure how i feel about Killian as i love the relationship between Stella Lincoln and Edward . It will be interesting to see if Edward and Lincoln will be able to share her with Killian Candace Wondrak has done an amazing job of the story line and i can wait to see what happens between the four of them next.

So I'm technically cheating since I'm only about to start chapter 7 but holy shit..... Killian is the Angel Maker????? That twist in itself has made this the greatest series ever... It is in my top 5 forever and always!!! I'm loving th way the story is progressing and honestly, without reading the rest (which God cannot I'm doing the minute i finish this review) i know it will be amazing. Killian is the Angel Maker???? I can't get over it..... I had my suspicions about Stellas deeds in the first book but never in a million years would i have guessed this....

...how psycho Stella is....It’s always the ones you least expect and while I kinda knew who the Angel Maker was I can’t lie and say that I was expecting certain developments and discoveries. Definitely worth a read and the thriller vibes this books give are amazing.

What makes a dark romance appealing? It seems like an oxymoron, but Candaces' Cold Dark Souls manages to create an unlikely romance between 4 of the most twisted and dark characters I have read about. I think one of the most intriguing aspects of this story is that the FMC, Stella, is not the light to the MMCs darkness, but rather she brings her own level of crazy to the relationship. She is flawed and imperfectly perfect for Edward, Lincoln and her Angel Maker.

What a page turner, Im loving the second book to this series, and im off to read the 3rd! Mind blown!! Whats ganna happen?!?!?
