Michael Jackson: Live In Bucharest - The Dangerous Tour [DVD]

Michael! Michael! Michael!
Well this in an awesome concert if you want a bit of fun and to watch MJ strut his stuff. The only issues I have are primarily with his tendency to mime. Now I know when you dance as he does it would sound very ropey if he simultaneously had to sing but I feel that he makes some poor choices when, for example, he sings 'Wanna Be Startin Somethin' where he sounds out of breath dancing and singing but he then mimes 'Heal the World' and 'Man in the Mirror' at the end. Whether or not he is such a perfectionist he wished it to sound perfect I don't know. It just seems that he can sing on songs like 'I Just Can't Stop Loving You' (despite the duet partner being the worst singer ever) and Human Nature but he has to mime 'Man in the Mirror' and 'Heal the World' which seem to be singable bearing in mind his dancing is at a minimum in these ballads.None the less it really shows you how popular he was, and still is, and the euphoria of the fans and the balls to stand in a statuesque position for so long shows his gravitas and pulling power with everyday people.Dangerous is a great album and this concert resembles him at what was probably the happiest point, and highest, of his career as after this period he received his first child abuse allegations in 1993 and although HIStory was as outstanding as anything else, he had developed issues with the press which is what most of the HIStory material consequently deals with.A great concert for MJ and non-MJ fans. You get used to the miming although you can tell at times when he consistently and rather annoyingly covers his mouth when he has a free hand. He does sing roughly 50% of the concert and the dancing and presence is all there throughout. The best performances on this DVD are definately the rarely heard 'Off the Wall' track: Workin' Day and Night, and the opening track to the 'Dangerous' album: Jam.

FANTASTIC Concert !!
I am a new MJ fan who have only now started to grasp his genious. When I first watched this concert, I could not comprehend that I had never made the effort to go and see MJ's extraordinary concerts and now it is too late. Therefore this is a real keep-sake.Some readers found that this DVD can be watched sitting in an armchair. Never! MJ and his music and dancing are so dynamic and intense that one starts dancing oneself! Someone lamented that there are too many sections where only audience or screaming girls are filmed. This is partly true, but there is the forward wind button. My favourites are the 'Smooth Criminal' with its superb choreography made especially for the scene and the 'I Just Can't Stop Loving You'. The show's tracks move fluently from high beat, energetic tracks such as 'Jam' and 'Wanna Be Startin Something' to soft ballads. This concert testifies how MJ really knows how to take his audience. It is just amazing.I have watched this DVD at least 6 times already and I am sure will never tire of it. I recommend this DVD wholehartedly to everyone who wishes to see and listen to Michael Jackson at his best - performing as only he could.

Amazing!
I have been so pleased with my purchase. I am a big fan of the bad tour dvd and was a bit worried after seeing reviews about lots of crowd footage. This is true at the beginning of this - quite why they think we want to see up the nose of some sweaty fan when the beautiful-heaven-sent-Michael is on the stage-but this does ease off after a few songs. (I know how the fans are reacting as I would react that way myself had I been lucky enough to see him live-although I’d probably have fainted as soon as he appeared on stage...worth seeing FYI). Michael’s performance is amazing as always. I really think he blossomed during the Dangerous era, (there are not many men who can carry off a sparkly jacket and a gold leotard-but he does it) and the way he is on stage is mesmerising. (Quite how Siedah Garrett remains composed is beyond me.....) The man doesn’t put on a concert, he puts on a show. A must for your collection. You will not be disappointed

Dynamic Dangerous Tour
This is one hell of a performance by MJ and others. His vocals are easily heard and the choreography is brilliant. He worked his socks off with the following performances for just over two hours!. Jam. Wanna Be Startin' Somethin. Human Nature. Smooth Criminal. I Just Can't Stop Loving You. She's Out Of My Life. I Want You Back/The Love You Save. I'll Be There. Thriller. Billie Jean. Working Day and Night. Beat It. Will You Be There. Black or White. Heal the World. Man In The MirrorThe camera work for this performance was excellent so I cannot for the life of me think why there were negative remarks about this together with the sound quality. I am beginning to wonder whether the DVDs purchased by some, were filmed by amateurs and not at the original concert on October 1st 1992. Totally recommend this DVD.
