What a great concept. Worked just like they said. We looked at some cool things but it’s too complicated and intricate for my preteen grandkids.

Purchased to use in my Bio 1308 class plan to continue to use it after for cool experiments.Expect time to learn how to use the Foldscope properly. While this is very easy to learn, and out of the box ready, you will still need to learn how to position the slides and camera attachment. Once you get the hang of it, you will be amazed at your slide images.The slots for the slides are very snug. Sliding the Foldscope to the correct magnification takes practice.I recommend this for Elem students (whom have help) to Adults. I purchased additional glass slides but you don't really need too as this comes with some. I will be purchasing a larger carrying/storage bag. Everything fits, although it is a very tight squeeze.

We ordered these on a glowing recommendation from a woman we met at a book store. We were both searching for gifts for grandchildren. We ordered 3 or 4 of them. One was for my husband, who loved the idea. He found that they were difficult to use. Great idea but not user friendly.

Out of the box, the lens shows all kinds of dust and dirt. No instructions. The slide holder isn't wide enough to hold the included slides without tearing.Utter garbage. I got this as a gift and it was tried after the return period, or else I would have sent it back.

I love this even more than I thought I would. I wanted to be able to look at algae, and it provides a nice inexpensive solution when I am not near my lab and near a benchtop microscope. And i love how it connects to the phone so you can take photos.

Good idea for classrooms, could have used this in my classroom when i was teaching; now my needs are a little more sophisticated so it’s more time consuming to get it set correctly. But still a great idea for learning!
