Fixed my Whirlpool WTW5000DW3 washer.
I had to watch several YouTube videos to find the error code F7E5 - shifter fault. The manual that helps find and interpret error codes is inside the machine on the left front.I took the old part of and it didn't appear damaged, but I ordered the new part and it came the next day.It was a very easy repair, and I was so relieved that it fixed the machine, and now it works like new.

Great Value / Easy To Install
Our six year old Whirlpool WTW5000DW1 washer stopped working recently. After doing some research online and watching some YouTube videos I learned how to get my washer into diagnostic mode. From there, I was able to get the fault codes to determine what was wrong. All signs pointed to the shift actuator. I called a few local appliance parts store. They had the replacement item in stock, but wanted over double the cost compared to Amazon. Since my situation wasn't an emergency, I could afford to wait 2 days for Amazon to deliver the part. The day it arrived I immediately installed it. The process for my washer was simple: tilt back the washer, remove the plastic motor guard (two screws), remove the old shift actuator (two screws and a wiring connector), install the new shift actuator (two screws & wiring harness, replace plastic motor guard). There's no doubt that I save at least $100 by not having to hire a repair person to come out. I also know that I saved money by not having to pay the repair person an inflated cost for the part / didn't get ripped off by buying the part locally for over double the cost. Time will tell if this part lasts (or at least as long as the original part). But for now, it works great and saved me a lot of money.

These are complete junk, the plastic moving parts broke within the first day.
This initially fixed the washplate issue we were having but the moving plastic parts on the actuator broke withiin the first day. So I bought another one thinking maybe I just got a bad one and that one had some kind of electronic issue that made it so the washer acted super weird. Got stuck at "Sensing, wouldn't spin, made really ugly noises...) So I pulled that one back off, I ended up taking the good plastics off the second one and putting them on the first one and that got it working again for about a day before the plastics broke again. These are complete junk. They look like the right part and they have one job to do, which they are incapable of doing.

Fixed washing machine that didn't drain & spin
My washing machine wasn't fully agitating the laundry and would not properly spin and drain after the wash cycle. So, every load of laundry required a second step of manually setting to Drain & Spin to be able to get the clothes into the dryer. After some research it appeared it was likely a broken Shifter Assembly. I got this piece in and replaced the old part with this and now it works like new. Replacement was pretty straightforward - unplugged washing machine, tilted it back, braced it so it wouldn't fall on me, removed 2 hex head screws that hold a white cover over the bottom motor assembly, removed 2 Phillips head screws on the old actuator and then the opposite to reassemble. Simple, 15 minute job if you can move/access the underside of your washing machine easily.

Hope this helps
Hopefully this fixes my Whirlpool commercial washers grinding noise. I've replaced the splutch but it still grinds. The You Tube video says this should do it. We will see.

Great Replacement
Just a FYI, this product doesn't come with replacement screws so make sure to keep your originals. I used on a Maytag MVWC565FW2 top load washer. I compared the numbers printed on the replacement actuator to the one I replaced on my machine. Everything lined up except the replacement says 4W and my original says 2.8W.

Not as good as original
It doesn’t seem to be as strong as the original one on the washer. It’s not doing what it should be
