amazing. It is truly well designed and well built
First and foremost, I am a consumer and have no affiliation with this company. I looked at this for over a year before shelling out the coin for this grill. That said.......this grill is quite simply..... amazing. It is truly well designed and well built. A true work of art that truly melds form and function. The subsequent food and convenience are absolutely incredible. Read PRIME RIB!!! Awesome!! Be sure to get the Direct Flame Flavorizer and Multi-tool. Wish I had gotten the larger version but this one suits me for most of my purposes. This grill belongs in the Smithsonian!

Love this gril
Love this gril! Cooking on it has been a huge improvement from having a Treager. Consistent temperatures, no over cooking. When you receive it, there is a bit of unpacking that will take about 3 hours as the stainless steel has a cover on it that takes time to remove. There is a lot of plastic to remove.

Expensive Grill that Doesn’t Work
This is an absolutely horrible company. I purchased a Memphis Grill in November 2017 from a local dealer. It worked fine for about one year, then All of a sudden wouldn’t maintain the set temperature. It would fluctuate from 150 degrees high to 200 degrees low, eventually catching on fire. We took it back to the dealer for repair and they changed out the controller. However, it took them 4 months to get the grill back to us! When we finally got the grill back, it worked okay for about two months then began doing the same thing again. Dealer took the grill back to their shop again and changed the temp probe. This time it took them two months to repair the grill. Got the grill back and immediately started doing the same thing AGAIN: 150 degrees high, 150 degrees low. It will only hold the set temp for a couple of minutes at a time. The soot and creasote are terrible and ruins whatever is on the grill, then catches on fire. Memphis Grills customer support is HORRIBLE! Their response, “we’re sorry you’re having these problems with your grill.” No offer to replace or fix the grill. We paid $2,400 for a grill that we can’t even use. STAY AWAY FROM THIS MANUFACTURER.

good, but not great
I bought my first smoker - a Traeger BBQ100 - in 2001; it rusted out by 2007, so I replaced it with another in 2008. When that unit reach end-of-life last winter, I went looking for a more robust smoker that wouldn't rust, wouldn't need its pellet augur removed to clear the "sawdust cement" that would occasionally prevent it from rotating, and could more accurately hold a 180F smoking temperature on cold days. After considerable research, I choose the Memphis Pro 28"; the key factors were its high-quality stainless steel, the gasketing around the lid opening, the maintenance-free pellet delivery mechanism, the built-in meat probes, and the WiFi-accessible temperature controller. I've been using it several times each week since it arrived in May 2017.First, the disappointments:1. I wish it had a built-in light (during the winter, it gets dark here around 5 pm)2. Even with meat placed on the "small grate kit", which is positioned several inches above the "standard grate", it is necessary to flip the meat once or twice during a smoking session to prevent over-cooking on one side; I never had to do this with the Traeger. I may try adding a fan to improve air circulation.3. The Android-based WiFi app requires pushing an on-screen button to see the current grill and probe temperatures; I wish that it would update automatically once each minute so I could simply glance at it.4. The meat probes use a 1/8" plug to connect to the front panel of the temperature controller. Given the weight of the probes, this plug is too-easily bent and broken; a 1/4" plug would have been the better design choice. That said, the grill has been 100% reliable, with no augur or igniter failures. The gasketing and double-wall hood result in significantly lower pellet consumption than I experienced with the Traeger. The temperature controller holds the set temperature well at any ambient temperature. The Android app makes it easy to monitor and adjust a long smoke without have to be physically present. And finally, the chicken, pork, beef, and fish smoked with this unit have been uniformly delicious.Despite the disappointments summarized above, I'm not aware of a closer match for our smoking requirements. And perhaps the Android app will be improved to automatically update the grill and meat probe temperatures.

It puts out some pretty amazing smoked foods and I do everything from pizzas ...
I've had this grill for about 6 months and basically use it every other day. It puts out some pretty amazing smoked foods and I do everything from pizzas to veggies on my Memphis. I give this 4 stars because this grill has some design flaws. During shipping, the heating element that controls the pellet burning may have moved slightly, which is enough to throw off the digital temperature reading. If that happens, the grill will keep feeding itself pellets (by restarting the startup pellet feed cycle) and it will eventually catch but it creates a pretty epic fire. My dad also had this grill and his Memphis did this and was destroyed so I was aware of this problem. Just make sure you have a fire in your burn pot from 3-4 minutes of turning it on and ALWAYS clean out the burn pot after doing long smokes because ash builds up in there and makes the next fire harder to catch and the grill will keep repeating it's auto pellet feed start up cycle. Make no mistake, this grill is not a set-it and forget-it, but then again if you are dropping 3 grand on this you are not a set it and forget it kind of griller. I highly recommend this grill, but take the time to learn about how it works!
