A MUST for Ice Cream Lovers!
I LOVE THIS!! The Ice Cream Canteen is AMAZING for us ice cream lovers who want to take our ice cream anywhere and keep it frozen for hours! I don’t have access to a freezer at work, so this is a Godsend for me! It’s Beautifully made and solid in it’s build. It may be a little pricey for some, but you get what you pay for in quality, design and functionality!

Love it!
I backed this on Kickstarter and used it for several camping trips in the summer in Louisiana and it kept my ice cream cold and frozen as it should be. It worked so well my sister didn’t return in so here I am buying a second one on Amazon. Perfect size to fit in my cooler, doesn’t leak and I love the stainless steel. Buy this, take it tent camping and impress your friends when you pull out ice cream to go along with the cast iron apple cobbler made over the camp fire.

Patience Rewarded - Great Product!
I initially had quite the hiccup with these ice cream coolers. My initial excitement turned into frustration when the lids on both of coolers I ordered proved utterly impossible to open. However, their customer service contacted me quickly and, after explaining their own frustration with technical issue with the lids, they promised help. While the wait was a bit longer than I expected, I'm pleased to share that the Ice Cream Canteen Co. did eventually come through, and a replacement shipment was sent my way. I'm relieved to report that these replacements function exactly as intended. They are both functional & beautiful - exactly as I had hoped. I can now walk downtown, buy my local anrtisanal ice cream, do a bit of shopping in the farmers’ market, and don’t have to rush straight home, or tote heavy blue ice packs. Despite the initial setback and the extended resolution time, the fact that this company made amends and fulfilled their commitment to customer satisfaction is noteworthy. Thank you, Ice Cream Canteen folks!

It keeps it cool!
Does exactly what it claims to do. Really well made and so far has been scratch-resistant. It’s kept a pint of lemon marionberry ice cream solid and still cold in a tote bag through an entire four and a half hour screening of the two “Kill Bill” movies.

Works Pretty Well
I purchased this because I make a ton of ice cream at home and wanted a good way to transport it to friends/family. To test the product, I took a pint of raspberry feta ice cream (one of my harder-frozen flavors) and put it outside after also freezing the container. It sat for exactly 2 hours in the shade. Outside temp ranged from 70-71 degrees during that time. After 2 hours, the ice cream had softened but was still very edible with good texture. I suspect one of my softer-freezing flavors would be borderline too soft after the same experiment. The top mechanism can be tricky to get on correctly. I don’t knock the product because of this - it’s mostly due to the attempt at removing any air between the pint container and the carrier and it very well could just be the type of ice cream containers I use. My conclusion: After my experiment, an hour or two in the car with AC would work just fine but 2 hours in 80-90 degree weather probably would result in disappointment!

Great product,(updated).
Being a hardcore ice cream lover the product is amazing in keeping Ice Cream frozen. Recently I had the Canteen fall on the floor and the lid came apart. I reached out 3-4 times to the company as it says it's in a life time warranty yet no one has gotten back with me since. I'll adjust my review if I can get some help with my issue. (Update: 01/08/2026) Someone finally reached out and was very kind to review my emails. Provided info of purchase and got it replaced extremely fast).

I wanted to love this container, but the lid is challenging
I really wanted to love this container, it's a great idea, I love the shape and it's all metal design is what I look for. BUT, the lid is so wide it can be a bit tough to tighten or open. In addition, with the lid tightened down, I noticed I could lift the lid away from the canister about 1/4 inch on one side. This, of course, prevents a good seal which will allow air from the outside in, thus warming the ice cream a bit quicker. I returned the canister, did some more shopping around and ended up buying a similar container from S'well which worked out better but is not all metal. Sorry "Ice Cream Canteen" I tried, but this container doesn't quite work for me.

Works great. Very, very pleased.
Everything is as advertised. I purchased this since I was tired of having my pint of ice cream melt way too fast. The lid is well insulated and makes it easy to travel when I’m away from the house. My pint (and the pint’s lid) fit perfectly inside and are well insulated. I use it to eat directly from the pint without messing any other dishes up. When I’m done, I put my remaining ice cream into the freezer. I could just leave it in the canteen, but I have a daughter in law who visits and that way she can use it for her pint of ice cream that she is able to eat. I haven’t told her but I’m planning on giving her one as a gift. I love seeing her happy.

My big question was sizing. Turns out this DOES fit the standard ice cream cone shaped pot. (I think this is a US pint). Anyway, very good quality metal vacuum flask. I bought it to get the ice cream home from town supermarket on bus. Works really well for this. Expensive, I think comes from US and duty is payable so delays on delivery and cost. Well made. Recommend but balance cost for yourself.

it works but overall it's pretty useless. could get same results with a good cooler

For a product which is so expensive, there seems to be a lack of quality control. You will notice that the round metal logo on the top is not centred or sitting flush (same with the other containers I received). The other problem may not be a manufacturer's problem and might be the seller's packaging - this particular item arrived with a damaged / dented lid. I am sure that this damage will not affect the use of the product, but at this kind of price, you would expect a very well made product.

Insulation is worse than I expected at this price. The weakest insulation is in the lid, causing the ice cream to melt from the top down, which is inconvenient because it means half the ice cream is perfect to eat whilst the other half is not. In my experience you cannot wait more than 4 hours before eating the ice cream. In contrast, I have other (less expensive) thermos food flasks that will keep food frozen for about 9 hours.
