Great product
I use this product annually. This has protected my boots and prevented my feet from getting wet. This product is sticky and thick but is really easy to apply

Your search for the perfect leather goop ends here.
This is the best stuff for your leather boots. I used to use it years ago, and I thought for some reason they went out of business. I rediscovered it recently and boy was I happy. Heat your boots up, I use a heat gun on low or a hair dryer. paint it on thinly with a small brush (if you warm up the can its a liquid if not, its a thick goo.) and hit it with the heat again, it'll soak in. buff the excess off and you have waterproof leather. Now, people tell you it is not for waterproofing the welt, and in the hot weather this is sort of true, as it turns to a liquid and is more like oil in the heat, BUT... in the cold winter, if you paint this stuff on the welt, its thick. When its out in the winter cold, its even stiffer and sticky and DOES seal your welt up nicely. Buff all the excess off the boot well, or you'll have stained pant cuffs where they ride on your boots. If its buffed off till dry not so much. Very light coats will soak in and the leather will be nice and dry. It smells like pine tar, which if you have never had pine tar, smells a bit like axle grease. So keep that in mind. You'll get used to it. Properly done you can waterproof leather boots in the cold to be as water tight as a rubber boot. You ever watch old movies and think how did these people keep their feet dry in leather boots? Well pine tar and bees wax is a very old mix and for a good reason.... it works. Hubers is formulated different than the old stuff but it works excellent. Try this FIRST....all other weather proofing goop like mink oils et al, pale in comparison. Just buy it.

Read cautious closely
This is an excellent conditioner and sealer. However when they say it may darken the color, it definitely will. I bought a pair of saddle leather brown boots and once I applied this I had a pair of dark brown almost black boots. They warned of this on the can was just darker than expected

Excellent Protection for Work Boots – A Must-Have for Anyone Who Works Outdoors
I work outdoors all day, every day, often in wet grass, mud, and everything else nature can throw at me. Having the right leather conditioner makes all the difference, and Huberd’s Shoe Grease has truly earned its reputation. After applying a single coat, my boots shed water easily and stay flexible without feeling greasy. Even after long days in wet conditions, my feet stay dry and comfortable. The application is simple—just rub it in, let it absorb, and buff lightly. It restores the leather’s color and keeps it from cracking, which means my boots last longer and perform better. If you rely on your footwear for tough work conditions, this product is worth every penny. I’ll absolutely repurchase when I need more.

Great for Heavy Duty Gear
So the “may darken” leather statement should be “will darken leather”. It works great, protects, softens and makes the leather pretty waterproof. I wouldn’t use this on furniture unless it was already dark brown or black. Perfect for dark leather.

Great for workbooks and heavy leather goods!
Great product that has proven itself through the years. I use this on my work boots, knife sheaths, belts, and heavy use leather items. It will shift the color of certain leathers. If you have an exotic or luxury leather, I’m not sure I’d recommend if you’re concerned with color change. It will take brand new Thorogood boots from stiff to broken in and about a day to two days in my experience. Combine Huberd’s Shoe Grease and a Peet boot dryer overnight and they’ll be like a soft ball glove the next morning it seems.

Best leather conditioner
I stumbled across this boot grease many years ago a will not use anything else. As a concrete truck driver, I work this into my boots once a month. The conditoning and waterproofing of leather is top notch. It's thick in the can but works in easily with fingers and body heat. It will darken lighter leather initially but comes back close to natural color in a short time. It has a lot of pine tar in it so your leather will smell like a campfire for a few days, which I don't mind at all.

Small pot but goes a long way. Excellent product our golf shoes and walking boots now look like new and are re-waterproofed. We warmed the pot slightly in a bowl of hot water. This makes it easier to apply and makes it last longer. Definately recommend.

I recently bought a pair of Dr. Martens boots and was looking for a natural grease to treat them. This grease is absolutely perfect. Made with natural bee's wax and pine tar, there are no animal fats or tallow, no preserver additives or synthetic compounds so that means it will NOT cause detterioration of threads ( important for Dr. Martens) or cause undue stretching of leather. It is a Waterproofer and conditioner for leather. This company has been around forever and never changed their product because it's absolutely perfect just the way it is. Tried and tested with time ! The grease did not change the colour of my boots ( black) they looked shiny at first but came back to normal after it dried. the leather is more supple and there is no need to brush after application. The can will last you for a really long time as it doesn't take much to treat a pair of boots or shoes. You can use your fingers or a cotton cloth if you prefer but it's totally safe. It smells like a old campfire when you apply it but the smell doesn't stay and it's easy to wash off hands. I highly recommend this product, I am so happy with it !
