Great Seal for Slate
I used this on black slate flooring that was turning white. After a mild power wash and stripping the previous sealer, I applied this product and it worked great. The white is gone and the slate looks terrific. The black color is back. It’s rained a few times since and no white has returned, so the seal is effective and durable. It was easy to apply and really no smell I could detect. I’d highly recommend this product.

This really works
Our fireplace brick had a good warm color but it seemed 'flat' and opaque, I wanted to keep the color, but make it richer and with depth, this product worked beautifully and it was very easy to apply and control, just like painting it without any unwated residue. or smell, it now looks rich and defined I am delighted with the results.

GREAT STUFF!!
Why did you pick this product vs others?:After some research I settled on this product for a few reasons-water based and low order being the first; impressed by how the product came to be and the fact it comes from small business and made in the USA.Using the water-like product and the final results was even better than I anticipated! I could not be happier. It really is very low oder, as well, if you're applying next to a wall or wood floors it's very forgiving on getting it cleaned off those surfaces. Just have some warm soapy water handy, and a cloth to rub dry and it's gone.I specifically wanted something that made the rock look wet but not glossy, that's exactly what this sealant did. Also, it is very close to recommended square footage use. This ledger stone was very chalky/porous, applied rather liberaly we used one full 32 oz. bottle and just a few ounces out of 2nd bottle. II put the product in a "commercial" bottle sprayer, it sort of sprayed all over (a bad spray bottle!) I might use another method next time..or a better sprayer. I did have a window open with fan and wore a mask just for precaution.

works well on natural slate
I purchased this product when I noticed that after using my conditioner after cleaning, the floor (natural slate) seemed to dull out within a day. In the past, after cleaning/conditioning it would stay bright for weeks. Realizing that I had not sealed my slate floors since I installed them almost 20 years ago, I guess they were due. However, the conditioner does put a form of sealer on the stone - but just not a 'permanent sealer' - as this product is. If you are also using a conditioner and then use this product for a more permanent sealer, please note that unlike the conditioner, which you can walk on as soon as it dries (20 minutes or so), this is a true sealer and took over 24 hours before it was totally dry. It may leave footprints and feel tacky if you walk on it sooner. Considering the cost and not seeing much difference after it was done (see before and after photos) I was happy for that - because I do remember when I originally sealed the floor we could not walk on it for quite some time, and it looked beautiful for years. The 'before' photo was taken after a very thorough cleaning (hand scrubbing the grout, etc), hence, the difference is minimal. Look at the front tiles in the 'after' photo and you should be able to see where I stopped applying the sealer for the day. It is hard to determine from the photos, but it does have a nice slightly 'wet look glow' to it - compared to the unsealed stone. It has been several weeks since I have done this part of the floor and I can say it is retaining its glow very well. I held off from continuing with the rest of the floor only because of some of the reviews that stated that the sealer actually put a haze on the stone (!!) after a week. So I held off to be sure that would not be the case. It has been several weeks and that did not occur. These types of sealers appear to be very sensitive as to what it is applied to the floor (i.e., sealers or other products) before applying this product. I believe that may be why some reviewers may have experienced the haze. I was happy that the product did not react with the conditioner that I use about 4-5 times a year.I used foam brushes to apply the product and that worked very well. The only issue that I had not anticipated is that you must lightly wipe off the residue about 10 minutes after application (I used new microfiber cloths). Since you only have so much working room, I found it difficult when applying since I knew I would need to be able to reach the area 10 minutes later for wiping. That, and you must not let the sealer dry before wiping off the excess made the work flow limiting and took several hours to do this small room (about 6x6). The good news is that although I bought the gallon container based on the coverage, I thought the product went a long way so I'm not worried about running out. Overall, I'm happy that my floors look like new again and I suspect keeping it clean will be easier for quite a few years.
