Q: Do you mix it 1 dose at a time? You don't have to mix the whole container do you? How do you store it?

You take the lid off of the lid with the reservoir and squeeze the bottle while it fills the reservoir, then you pour the measured dose directly on the back of the large animal. I use it on my large horses and completely fill the reservoir (30 oz) and start at the withers and pour a straight line across their back to the tale. I store it at room temperature in my tack room at my stables. If you wanted to put it on cattle there are larger quantities to be purchased and placed in a giant sprayer and you can spray the cattle as they go thru the squeeze shoot.

Q: Is it water proof? If I put it on and it rains for a few days, will it still be in affect?

On the bottle, it says not to saddle or wash the horse for six hours after application. So I wouldn't put it on while it was raining, but it should be o.k. if the horse was dry for the first six hours. I personally haven't noticed a decrease in effectiveness after a rain shower, but my horses voluntarily come inside when it rains, so they don't really get soaked.

Q: For those who have used it on horses how long was it effective for flies and ticks. How soon after first application did you have to apply again?

We don't have ticks too bad so I don't know how they work on those. As for flies, it seemed to take a few hours and then my steers were fly free. It lasted about three weeks and then flies were back.
