5.11 Men's Cotton Multi-Purpose Tactical Long Sleeve Shirt, Style 72157

I have a number of 5.11 clothes, both shirts and pants. All are well made and well thought out. No weird pockets where they don't belong or worthless loops. This shirt is no exception. It is very durable material which does not pick up too many seeds and burrs. Think houndstongue. Good for working around hay or anything that sticks to and wears out lighter material. The hidden pockets are great. Easy to access and large enough for larger phones and note pads.One thing to beware of if buying on line. These, like a lot of 5.11 shirts, are sized to fit over body armor. My LEO relatives warned me as did other reviewers. I wear a 16.5 dress shirt and have a 45" chest, 34" waist and the medium is a good fit with a tee shirt underneath. I normally wear a large or occasionally an XL. The large in these was huge especially through the body. A a caveat, I do not like or need my shirts loose. I also take care to wash this in cool water and hang dry. Hope this helps more than adds confusion on the sizing.

My initial review I gave 5 Stars and stated "Good product, well made." This was based on previous purchases of 5.11 shirts which were made in Hong Kong and lasted years (7). This shirt however was made in Bangladesh and the fabric quality doesn't seem to be the same.I seen unusual wear around the collar and I'll be lucky if I get 18 months out of this shirt.Truly disappointing as I like the shirt design and have had prior good experiences with 5.11

UPDATE: Originally rated 5 star. This particular shirt was sent to the laundry one time. It came back and when I attempted to wear it... 4 buttons crumbled/broke. I have had buttons do this before but only after years of use. I wore this one time, one laundry visit. I have the others in the laundry now so I don't know if they will do the same when I get them back. The original shirt I bought a few months ago has been to the laundry several times without broken button syndrome. This is not acceptable.I have five of these shirts. They are a good weight and can be used as a shirt jacket in my area. I have used the concealed pocket for my firearm on a couple of occasions and the shirt handles it well.Pros:1) good quality2) good material weight3) nice features4) looks good5) fits as expected.Cons: Haven't discovered any..

I bought my second shirt just before taking a trip to Europe. These shirts are so awesome I just love them. The extra concealed pockets are fantastic for travel and the shirt is more than durable. I've read some people that complain about the fit. I'm 6'1" about 210 lbs and look fit, the shirt fits fine. It's a little snug in the shoulders after a couple of washes, but not uncomfortably so. I like the way the shirt hangs so I can wear it tucked in or not and it will look great. I plan on buying more shirts here in the near future. This is my favorite shirt.

I was looking for button shirts because I was getting tired of wearing 5.11 polos all the time and these are perfect. After trying the poly/cotton blend version of this shirt I much prefer these cotton ones as they feel better against my skin. Compared to other button shirts these are just plain superior.Pros:-Canvas design means better durability if the shirt is punctured.-All cotton feels better than blend version in my opinion.-Features like sleeve clip holder, punch-out cargo pockets, air ventilation vent, and hidden document pockets make this a very practical utility shirt.Cons:-Price: These are expensive and there's no denying that. However, you get what you pay for and these are incredibly well made. Moreover, if you consider how many times you'll be wearing this shirt, it's a prudent investment.-There's a 5.11 logo stitched near the button front section of the shirt. I wish 5.11 would have included an option to remove that easily.Conclusion:I needed a shirt that is both tactical and low-profile -- this is it. If your searching for a button shirt that is best-in-class, I would highly recommend these 5.11 cotton utility shirt.

I ordered 3 of these 5.11 LS shirts at the same time. I typically wear a "large" in almost every shirt that I own, but read the reviews concerning the sizing of these shirts. I ordered a size medium, and it fits perfectly! These shirts may be a bit spendy, but the quality is off the chart. They are absolutely beautiful shirts with a color-rich look. They aren't flimsy either. When you pick one up, the weight and feel of this shirt will impress you before you ever try it on. I don't own anything that 5.11 makes that I'm unhappy with. I trust this brand to the max. Remember, remember, remember the sizing warning, and you'll be good to go!

I wear a men's, 42 regular coat and a shirt neck size 16 and 35" sleeves. The large 5.11 fits comfortably loose and is suitable for outdoor wear like sports events, hiking, etc. After 1 washing, the heavy cotton fabric is still a little stiff, but maybe that's a sign that it will be durable. I'd buy it again.

Brilliant for travel. Good tough material and well made.The external pockets behind the chest pockets can hold documents, tickets, cash or a phone where they are secure but instantly accessible without being obvious.The rear shoulder vents help keep you cool. If there is a gripe, the cuffs are a bit tight and you would be best with a very slim watch.I have been using one for travel for over ten years and there is plenty of life left in it but have just bought a back up.Discounted over that period, they are cheap.

I do a lot of camping and other outdoor activities so have a large collection of utility type shirts.The quality of these shirts is second to none. The cotton/canvas feels like it should hold up to anything that even Bear Grills could throw at it. Way beyond the quality of any of my other outdoor shirts. The stitching is really firm throughout, and there are handy pockets in just the right places.It loses a star for the sizing. These shirts are massive. I am a big guy and normally take a 2XL, mostly for sleeve length (honestly). This was the size I ordered, and it is huge around the body. Yes the sleeves are certainly long enough, but the body is massive. Presumably this allows the more tactical wearer to wear body armour under the shirt. My fault for washing it prior to trying it on properly - the fabric is initially quite stiff and I thought a wash would soften it a bit.Next time I will be buying a size smaller - that is if this ever wears out!

These are great shirts, love them.However it must be pointed out that these are a REGULAR fit and not a CLASSIC "generous" fit as the size chart indicates. Just order the size you normally wear and not a size down (as I did) because you will end up with a shirt that is too small.Frustrating really, because these shirts are excellent and delivery was very fast.

Good quality and fits perfect for my husband!
