I got this for my ginger cat. He is a normal size guy, leaning toward the lighter side weight-wise because of his antics. He loves this toy. He does have an ongoing love affair with cardboard scratchers but was quickly shoulder deep in the chase for the elusive balls inside. He has probably spent more time with this since Christmas than any other toy.But here's the problem.I gave it four stars because of how much my ginger loves this toy. He's not a big guy, spending plenty of time doing cardio from one end of the house to another like a miniature horse. But his butt has compacted one end of this toy so when he sits on top to play, the balls become trapped at the low end. This occurred about 3 days after christmas, so not long at all. It hasn't stopped him from playing with it but it's a little sad to watch sometimes.Tl;dr: my cat loves it but a couple days of play left the one end squished, trapping the balls inside, even though he's a lightweight cat.

The issue is, he manages to get the balls out, and then it isn't of much interest to him. I haven't had him have a super reaction to the scratching part of the scratcher, however, the scratcher is well made, and affordable. He will play and reach for the balls inside it all day if I can find them when he gets them out .I think I will also get him a scratcher that stands up, so that he will maybe take more interest in it. Since he's a kitten he may not be acclimated with what it is enough. He still scratches my furniture so I think I may need a larger unit. He's my first kitten and so I am learning as I go. It's a good little scratcher for the price and well made.

The cats are really enjoying this toy. They love the cardboard things to scratch on and have been trying to get the balls out since we opened it. I will say, I saw on another review that the cardboard sits too low and the balls get stuck - that did happen with mine as well, but we just cut a couple little pieces of cardboard from something else to put on top of the ones glued in the bottom of the toy and it works great!

Haha, well, my cat likes it OK, but we’ve had it 6 hours and he’s already figured out how to enlarge one of the holes and take the ball out. I put the enlarged hole up against the wall and we’ll see how long it takes him to solve this problem. Oscar is our genius problem solving cat. The other 2 were completely mystified by the ball inside.

The media could not be loaded.    I ordered this a while back and it still works. My cats are still using this scratcher everyday. I like that this comes with two balls inside and it also comes with cat nip. The first day I opened this up my cats were very interested in it and they could not figure how to get the balls out so they played for hours. Another thing I like about this is that the cardboard that it is made from is thick it is built to last.I have 4 cats at the moment and they all loved it just as much as I did. I have a video of my cat playing with it that I will upload. The next time I need a cat toy I will remember this brand and buy from them again because it is worth what I paid.

The scratcher part gets 5 stars, but the toy part gets 1 star. The scratcher is very durable, and my kitties love their scratchers. The part with the toys is too small. My younger cat was all about trying to get the balls until she realized they wouldn't move around for her. The holes for their paws are pretty small, too. If you've got a cat with large mitts they won't be able to get at the balls. All in all, I wouldn't buy it again.

The cat scratcher itself is good quality. The only issue is that there is not enough space inside for the balls to roll around in. The bells inside each ball rings so the cats still can play with it but it isn't worth what I paid for the little bit of scratcher surface without the full functionality of the toy.UPDATE: The company that makes this cat scratcher /toy read my review and took it upon themselves to send me a new scratcher because I wasn't satisfied. I am so impressed by the customer service. I didn't request it. They just sent it. BTW, the new one works perfectly. If I could give more than 5 stars now I would.

The holes are too small for our cat to be interested in this toy. She has been looking at it for a week. I had to remove the "lid" section for her to get to the toys. She hasn't used the scratch pad either. Other than that, it seems like a good idea. We will see...
