Our understanding is that you go by weight and height--not the age of the child--to determine the best dress size. She may be four years old but wear 3T, 4T, or 5T depending on her measurements. If her measurements fall between dress sizes, you're advised to go the size higher.

I have been buying these dresses for my granddaughters for several years. My youngest granddaughter is now four years old, but she has been wearing these dresses since she was three. She is pretty tiny for her age and the size three fit her well. You might want to get the short sleeve version in case it is a bit big on her.

Q: Are these hang dry? Or can you put them in the dryer?

Spandex can be damaged by heat. Best is to put the dress in the dryer at low heat for a few minutes to get out any wrinkles, then hang to finish drying.
