D'Addario Violin Rosin - Cello Rosin - Natural Rosin Violin, Light

Most excellent product!

Good rosin for my use: making the bobbin tire more sticky to work on my vintage/antique sewing machine. Not sure how it works for it's original use since I don't play any viols, but works great for sewing machine repair.

Worth it. After having problems with the free rosin that came with the violin, after problems with the next two sets of rosin we purchased, we finally came across this one. And to be honest, before grabbing this rosin we weren't sure if the problem was with the prior rosins or the bow and bought a second bow that alleviated the sound quality - but after applying this rosin, both bows work wonderfully and sound great. In fact, I like the original bow now that the rosin gives a proper grip on the strings. It's also much easier to apply due to the rubber guard on the sides. Seems to last too.

I’m just learning to play a violin and can only report that the Rosin Holder is functional and the product works.

I’ve been playing the violin for a while now, and finding a good rosin that’s both easy to use and effective can be a bit of a challenge. This one caught my attention because of its simple design and how well it grips the bow hair. The first time I used it, I noticed that it went on smoothly without making a mess, which is always a plus. Some rosins can be too powdery or sticky, but this one sits in a nice balance between the two. The packaging is simple but practical. The grip makes it easier to hold, which is something I didn’t think about much until I used rosins without it. It definitely helps, especially when I’m in a rush before a lesson and need to apply it quickly. What stands out to me is how consistent it is. Some rosins wear down unevenly or get flaky over time, but this one has held up well. I don’t have to reapply too often, and when I do, a few strokes are enough to refresh the bow. That makes a difference when I’m going through long practice sessions and don’t want to keep stopping to add more rosin. Another thing that makes it great for me is how compact it is. It fits easily in my case, so I don’t have to worry about misplacing it. I’ve had larger rosins before, and they tend to take up unnecessary space. This one is simple and convenient. When it comes to performance, I’d say it does its job well. The bow catches the strings smoothly, and the sound is clear without feeling too harsh. It works well for both slow, expressive pieces and faster passages where I need a bit more control. I also like that it doesn’t leave too much dust on my instrument, which means less cleaning after practice. The only thing I’d say is that the plastic holder feels a little flimsy. It hasn’t broken on me yet, but I do wonder how well it will hold up over time, especially with frequent use. Still, for the price and the performance, I think it’s a solid choice.

Typical light rosin. Not as soft as the dark, but once the surface is prepped. Very nice.

I like the resin, and that it is magnetic so I can stick to my safe in the music room and always know where it is.

Easy to use and gives you comfort knowing you can't use to much or too little.

Cannot be more basic than this when it comes to rosin! But it is good quality and it does the job well. No fancy packaging or holder though.
