I purchased this for a barn door style garage door lock. They seem very well constructed with 1 major flaw. The screws that come with them are absolutely horrible. You MUST pre-drill the holes if you are planning on using the supplied screws. They are cross tip aka Phillips head and strip VERY easy. The rest of the product is good. Fits a dried 2x4 snug. Will not work with green lumbar has locking holes for grenade style pins. I can't give a 5 star rating due to the screws. I would recommend using lag bolts instead of screws if this is for outdoor use. But #10 decking screws will work also.

I wanted to make sure my garage was not easy to get into and this was exactly what I was looking for. It took 5 mins to install and gave me a huge peace of mind. The clamps are heavy duty and don't bend at all.

These are heavy duty. The black powder coating looks good and is durable.I drew a paper template for locating the screw holes accurately. It was easier than trying to hold the bracket in place while tracing in the holes.The supplied screws provided a strong hold going through OSB plywood into framing studs. I predrilled 3/16" holes. You might consider using longer screws if you're going through sheetrock and into studs.
