"You're traveling through another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind; a journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination. That's the signpost up ahead-your next stop, The Twilight Zone." Submitted for your approval, Rod Serling's timeless series of fantasy and suspense, which ran from 1959-1964, with a roster of then-current and future stars that included Burgess Meredith, William Shatner, Gig Young, Lee Marvin, Inger Stevens, and Jack Klugman.156 episodes on 24 discs. 74 1/2 hrs. A marvelous and even macabre mind journey into the core of imagination
There is a 5th dimension, beyond that which is known to man. It's a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of mans fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination, it's an area in which we call the Twilight Zone. Season one contains my favorite introduction to the show.As reviewed by many, the casing of the many discs is sub par, but for myself, taking out the Blue-Ray Disc's is easy. Thus far I've only watched a little more than two dozen episodes, and everyone has fantastic picture and sound quality. From 1959-1964, TV was a journey into the past, present and future, and the creator of "The Twilight Zone," Rod Serling set new standards for science fiction, horror and the bizarre in this fantastic TV series. Serling's introductions and conclusions to the episodes are fitting and his voice and writing seized my senses in many of the episodes."The Printers Devil," starring Burgess Meredith as the devil is classic TV at its zenith. Exit the infernal machine and with it his satanic majesty Lucifer, Prince of darkness, aka Mr. Smith, Serling said at the conclusion of "The Printers Devil." These words spoken by Serling seized my imagination. Delicious dialogue is laden throughout many of the episodes, and it will be a long time before I view all 156 shows and that's OK for me.It's understandable "The Twilight Zone" was a stepping stone for many future Hollywood stars. The writing was gripping and sometimes disturbing, but always intriguing. Perfect for the month of October incidentally. The shows include original and remastered audio, and most of them have other special features. A booklet with an episode index would have been nice, but bravo to the CBS Studios 2021 remastering of this TV classic. If you've never seen any of these shows and appreciate witty dialogue and solid story lines, I highly recommend this Blue-Ray Disc set. "Time Enough at Last," "The Masks" are just a couple of the many episodes that have cemented themselves into the heart of time and real entertainment. As stated by Serling; Science fiction: the improbable made possible. Fantasy, the impossible made probable. What would you have if you put these two things together? Hearing these words in "The Fugitive" with Serling's signature voice will never cease my journey into the 5h dimension.

This show was legendary
This show broke new ground at the time. The shows are still great and some of them have very deep subjects. If you have never seen the twilight zone this series is for you.

The Twilight Zone (1959 - 1964) Complete Series on Blu-Ray
CBS Video/Paramount Studios released on Blu-Ray the complete series of "The Twilight Zone" the classic and still fondly remembered and relevant Science fiction and fantasy themed TV series hosted (and frequently written) by Rod Serling. Running five seasons and 156 episodes, most of which are either very good or masterpieces. Some of the best episodes are '"The Monsters are Due on Maple Street", "Time Enough at Last" "Eye of the Beholder" "The After Hours" and "Nightmare at 20,000 Feat" among a multitude of others. Sure, there were some duds ("Cavender is Coming" and "Caesar & Me" come to mind), but overall, among the finest series ever made, and never out of syndication.Looking stunning in HD, a definite upgrade over the 2004 & 2005 season set DVDs from Image Entertainment, which were still among the best transfers at the time. Porting over most of those extras, though it omits the Jack Benny Show clip that Rod Serling appeared in, and most notably. the PBS series "American Masters" episode that profiled Rod Serling, which was a bonus disc on season five, (likely due to rights issues) so you'll have to save that DVD at least to watch it.Most new extras are audio commentaries featuring authors Marc Scott Zicree and Gary Gerani, among several others. Zicree had written "The Twilight Zone Companion" book about the series, which had been included with the DVD set, though is not available here. Also now notably includes the unofficial hour-long pilot episode Serling had written for the Desilu Playhouse show in 1958 called 'The Time Element.'Comes in a big clear case that holds the 24 discs in hubs which are not always popular, but I have had no trouble using it or keeping the discs organized. Slip out sleeve thin cases like the DVDs had would have been preferable in some ways, but this still works fine for me. A must have for fans.

Twilight Zone on Bluray....with a caveat..
No need to go into details here. TZ fans know each title by heart and every detail, so now the original series is on Bluray discs.I have the DVD collection but thought I would take the plunge and upgrade. My eyes can see a difference when viewing with my 4k projector and 110" screen. Were I watching on a 40-55" tv, the differences would likely be harder to discern. Picture quality wise, each episode looks as great as it could possibly be, including the few done on video tape. Now the caveat....and it is HUGE! Others have riled on the packaging of these discs. They are correct! These discs are very difficult to remove from their hubs. Extreme care must be used....but with great care and patience, I was able to remove every disc without any damage/breaking. Simply stay calm..try to hold the disc by its edges....press down firmly on the hub and the disc will come off. It may take you several attempts to get the procedure down pat, but you can do it. Deep breaths help. After removing each disc with care, I placed them into their own individual case. There is really no excuse to have such terrible packaging....just begging for cracked/broken discs....but it is what it is....hence the 4 stars. Perhaps I am being too generous here.
