High Quality Thermometer
I have several full submersion thermometers but this one by far is superior to all off them I own. I was so impressed when I opened the package to find that I had a high quality lab tool. This is easy to read, dead accurate and capable of a very large range of temperature measurements. The blue color is also more vivid and contrasting than the red or mercury making for me much easier to read. I will certainly buy this item again as it is well worth more than I paid for it. Thanks very much

Great for getting reliable mash readings
I purchased this to have a more accurate thermometer to use during homebrewing. It is much more reliable than the turkey frier thermometer that I used in the past and had to constantly recalibrate. The only downside is that there is no loop to attach a string, but really it has been no problem to just hold it in the mash. Would highly recommend if you aren't read to pluck down the cash on a Thermapen but want to be sure you are hitting your mash temperature.

Failed within 3 days of use.
I left 2 stars because it worked for the first 2 days (+/- about 2 degrees tolerance). On the third day, I noticed that my temperature readings were much lower than they should be and there was an air gap between the blue spirit inside. After removal I found that the bulb and everything that was submerged was broken in half and had leaked into my solution, contaminating it. I would suggest spending a little more money on a mercury lab thermometer that has higher quality glass. If I hadn't wanted to save 10 dollars I could have bought a reputable brand. When using this thermometer, I did a gradual heating and cool-down over the space of a couple hours, so I'm pretty sure it didn't break from thermal shock. I'm not sure why it failed, but I'm not happy. I had to use a glass stir rod in place of this to finish off the reaction, while guessing the heat by watching the solution. Since I waited to use this after a certain amount of time had passed, it's outside Amazons return window. This is not a bad review of the seller, as all the other items I bought held up find and performed admirably, just this brand thermometer which I have a problem recommending.

A good partial immersion thermometer.
This appears to be a good thermometer. Very well packaged and directions in 6 languages. It has a protective rubber collar and easy to read lines and numbers. It's partial immersion line is approximately an inch & a half from the tip of the bulb. Variances are given in the directions, get your magnifying glass. Claims to meet several lab stds. I will accept their claim unless/until it proves otherwise. Actually, I don't expect a problem.

Bad Accuracy
Disappointed with the accuracy. At room temperature it was about 2 deg C off (about 4 deg F). The specs are accurate to within 0.5 deg C.

Pretty darn accurate
Got two of these to help calibrate my digital thermometers. Easy to use an ice bath to verify accuracy. Both were pretty much spot on. I used them to calibrate my digital. I guess I will use them to recalibrate digitals throughout the season, since these guys stayed constant and the digitals changed over a couple of months to being off by 1-2 degrees, a big no no with hatching. So I will keep using these as my main thermometers. Note - when lined up, the markings on the two do not line up. But they both read 100, so they are both accurate.

Make sure you want Fahrenheit...
This you can't return this, so make sure you get the correct one. -1 star because it's ridiculous that you can't return an unused item. The thermometer itself is well made, the glass is hefty, it's easy to read, the protective case seems sturdy enough, and it's accurate.

Easy to read.
This is a nice thermometer. I found it easy to read and the stopper works great for holding it in place when necessary.
