Best Red Wine Vinegar Ever
Products like this, often difficult to obtain in local stores, are what makes Amazon so valuable. I can't speak to the actual differences in process, but I think of Banyuls as standing in the same relation to Balsamic as Ripasso to Amarone -- i.e. a somewhat backed-off version that retains much of the depth and nuance of the 'original' with less intensity.

Source for a hard to get product
I've been trying to find a source for this since having it in a chicken sauce at TRU restaurant in Chicago. None of my local stores seem to even know what it is. For those of you wondering, the nearest thing I can use as a comparison is the French answer to balsamic.
