Blade holder casting needs revising.
Purchased ten all the same. Handle casting is rough and blade holder is 2mm too long, channel depth for receiving the blade not straight or consistent, to top and bottom. The height thickness of the holder tapers from deep at front to shallow at rear. Blade does not lie uniformly in line with the handle. When inserting a swann morton No 24 surgical blade rear of the blade does not lay flat. Result it is not secure. Revise the pattern, tooling, manufacture and finish for this handle. Ruler is a nice touch on the handle. Could have scale top and bottom. Also in inches on the reverse to make us of what is empty space. Photos are attached. Current version clearly has several issues which can be remedied.
