Coldsnap helps parents keep their infants warm and dry in the rain and snow. It's an alternative to expensive maternity coats, sack-like covers or ineffective makeshift solutions. Starting from late pregnancy, when a woman can't button her coat over her full belly, coldsnap can be attached to a mom's coat to keep her warm. After baby arrives, coldsnap can be used by mom or dad when exploring the city with baby in any front carrier. Unlike other baby carrier covers, which separate baby from parent, this keeps baby closer to the adult body, using the most effective source to keep baby warm-body heat. Mom or dad can use coldsnap with any coat and any carrier or sling.

I love the idea, the execution could use some work though.
Pros: easy to put on to any coat. Works in moderately cold weather and 20 degree cold weather as well. Love that this doesn't need a learning curve to use unlike the boba vest which we hate and left our 10 month olds feet and ankles uncovered. Our second favorite Babywearing winter cover as far as warm and easy to use is the kowalli, but with temps dipping in the 30s we use cold snap because we don't have to layer baby as much in the colder weather.Cons: the hood is practically useless. Not enough fabric was used for it to stay on baby's head. Also it doesn't stay tucked into the main body of the cover and leaves exposed areas behind baby's neck. We solved this by making sure baby is wearing a balaclava hat (not sure how is spelled). The flaps in the sides can leave baby exposed if not snapped on super tight. The designer basically just designed this to tuck in under and on top of the sides of the coast and magically stay put. Wish the snaps were actually connected (by buttons maybe?) to the outside side flaps so that i didn't have to worry about having gaps in where the coat connects to the cover. We solved this by folding parts of the flaps into the snap before closing. The only thing is this method doesn't work well if your coat gets stretched and can make the snaps come undone.Overall : husband and i like it for the colder weather, but it definitely takes a bit of finagling to get it to work.

Not worth the $$
I desperately wanted to love this product. And I did for the first month or so. I appreciated being able to wear any coat and once you got the hang of it. it was a snap to put on/take off. But the snaps are VERY flimsy. Of the 8 that are on the cover, three of them are broken. And at $80, it should be more sturdy. Additionally, one of the drawstrings broke within the first few days but since I didn't really use them, I didn't mind. I regret having bought this and I would not recommend it.

I absolutely love the cold snap
I absolutely love the cold snap. My husband and I both used this when wearing our baby. His feet did poke out of the bottom once he graduated from the "legs tucked in hold" to the legs dangling down pose around 5 months. I am sure next winter his feet and legs will poke out a bit more. I will manage this by making sure he wears good socks, pants and boots. The cold snap is VERY warm and kept our guy rosy cheeked and happy for long walks in the dead of winter. Sometimes it was a bit too warm with our body heat and his clothes so we had to adjust his clothing or undo one side of the snap to cool him down a bit. Highly recommend. The snaps on ours are very sturdy, easy to use solo and totally worth the $100.

We used this with our 2 month old around Christmas in NYC and it worked great! Easy to put on and we both stayed very warm. The clips are strong and allow you to use this with any jacket. It's perfect for short trips as well since you don't have to bundle your little one up in multiple layers every time you walk outside.

Probably would've been great
Returned because the snaps were too difficult for me to use with my arthritis. Probably would've been great otherwise

Pretty good.
This serves its purpose but the clips are difficult to fasten once you have it on. I use it on a shorter jacket and it's better. Also it's not very long. Definitely a one season item I think.

Great Way to Keep Baby and You Warm - Easy On/Easy Off
Makes getting around in cold NYC winters soooo much easier! We used our ColdSnap with our Ergo carrier when our little guy was small enough to be carried around. no need to fuss with bundling him up to get him to daycare in the morning and I appreciated the ease of getting him and me out the door, especially with my work overcoat. The clips were easy to use and the side flaps kept out the wind. We liked it so much we bought a ColdSnap for my brother and sister-in-law - they both love it!
