They are synthetic. Essential oils are generally the purest form of the plant, fruit, bark, nut, or flower from which they're distilled from, while fragrance oils are almost entirely a synthetically manufactured product. Though many fragrance oil manufacturers use certain types of essential oils or natural carrier oils in the manufacturing process, they are still, mostly synthetic.

Are these phthalate free?

Yes their website said all of their oils are phthalate, paraben, and acetone free.

How much fragance can I use to make soap?

When I make soap, I add it into the calculate when I formulate the ingredients - However it basically works out to about 1 to 1.5 ounces per pound of finished soap.

This may sound dumb but can these be used as potpourri?

That is how I use it. I put about 10 drops in my scentsy warmer and my whole house smells amazing.

Smells heavenly!
