Is this a functioning watering can or just decorative?

This item serves both decorative and functional purposes.

Is this pitcher truly 12 X 10? Twelve inches high and 10 inches wide at the bottom? I want to use this to hold silk sunflowers on my dinning table.

The pitcher measures 12 inches high and 6 inches wide at the bottom. The 10 inches wide measures from widest part of the handle to across the pitcher. Hope this makes sense. I have it on a fireplace with flowers and change them with the seasons.

One reviewer said this will not hold water? Has anyone else found this to be a problem? If so, could a qt yogurt container fit inside to hold water?

This does not hold water which was a problem for me because I bought it to give as a gift with fresh flowers. I actually tried a yogurt container amongst many other sizes but nothing would fit. I ended up using doubled layered gallon size freezer bags and that did the trick.
