The World of Eric Carle (Tm) Animal Flash Cards (Alphabet Flashcards for Toddlers, Animal ABC Cards)

I highly recommend these. They are colorful and sturdy - although the box lid was torn off the first day. I bought these for my daughter when she was around 13 months old. Between 14 and 16 months old, she went through a phase where she wanted me to read ALL of her books at least once a day, and sometimes more than that. These cards fell into the group that were usually requested to be read three or more times a day! My husband laughed at me because I would hide them under the glider at the end of the day because I just couldn't bear to read them one more time (even though they are fabulous)! I am happy to say that, at 18 months old, she can name almost all of the letters and animals, even if I show them to her out of order. The first time she did this, my husband and I sat with our jaws dropped, because she hadn't looked at the cards in at least a month and still remembered them. If you like Eric Carle at all, get these!

Description: Each card measures 4" x 6.5" and is printed on sturdy 1/16" multi-ply paperboard. The artwork is composed of animals from Eric Carle's classic children's books. Pros: Beautiful artwork which my daughter can relate back to the Eric Carle collection of books we also have. The familiarity of the animals reinforces both the animal and stories. The product quality is excellent and the cards are very durable. Cons: None Comments: My daughter instantly gravitated toward these flashcards and enjoys playing with them everyday. Having individual flashcards rather than a bound book enables her to organize and sort them however she pleases rather than be restricted to the sequence of pictures in a book. These flashcards are a nice compliment to our Eric Carle book collection.

These Eric Carle flash cards are great of your kids are fans of the author. They contain some of the animals from Carle's popular books, and a variety of new ones. The animals are on one side and the upper and lowercase letters are shown on the other side against a vibrant background. These cards have been great in helping my son to learn both animals and the alphabet (how many kids do you know can recognize an urchin or a xolo?!). The construction is also very good, a nice, thick cardboard stock. However, they can bend and break, but at least hold up much better than the sub-$4 flash cards. Makes a great gift for young kids.

We are so happy with these flash cards, in fact I cannot wait to buy more! They are a great size and very sturdy so I don't worry about letting my toddler enjoy them on his own. We both love them so much that I know they are helping foster a great love of learning in my little guy. The illustrations are beautiful and the animal choices are fun and unique. We already have plenty of "A is for Apple/Alligator" options so this is a welcome breath of fresh air. I only wish I had considered an Eric Carle themed nursery when I had the chance!

From the photos and description of this item, it should be clear that the artwork is beautiful. The illustrations are bright, colorful, and delightful. What the photos do not capture is the high-quality production of this item. The flashcards are super sturdy, made of very thick material (very simimilar to the pages of a board book), which means that they are TODDLER-PROOF. They are easy for little hands to get in and out of the box, and I don't have to worry that energetic little ones will destroy them. Very well-made flashcards with thoughtful design.

These flash cards are fantastic. I was hesitant to buy them because I didn't want to be one of those overzealous moms with flashcards -- but I'm so happy that I did. This is the second set I've purchased. My oldest daughter loved them, and learned to recognize the letters before she could talk. By the time my second child came around, we were desperately in need of new cards because the old ones had gotten so much use. Now my youngest brings them over to have me run through the letters, sounds, and animals with her. They are colorful and so educational - from ordinary animals like the elephant, to extraordinary animals like the narwhal. My girls can't get enough! ***If anyone has children who are afraid of alligators (ahem), A is for alligator in this product!! (We just hid that card)

I really like these cards. There are letters on one side and an animal and it's name on the other. The drawings and colors are great (just like the Eric Carle books). One con is that some of the animals are kind of obscure. I bought these for my (at the time) 1 year old for Christmas. We really enjoyed a set of Wee Gallery Art Cards we received from Citrus Lane, but they are expensive and don't contain many cards. This set comes with 5x the amount of cards and Are more reasonably priced. My daughter is now 18 months and loves these cards. They are very sturdy too. Thick like a board book. Perfect for toddlers. They also come with a nice storage box. Would definitely buy again. Update: 5/11/17 My daughter is now 3.5 and we still have these wonderful cards (with the exception of the U card someone ate). Would still recommend.

My mom bought these for my 17-month-old daughter and we LOVE them! They are bright, fun, and full of unique animals. Unfortunately, our daughter chewed half of them up (ugh!) but the ones that remain in one piece are really great. They are really thick and good quality; my daughter is just a beast with a lot of teeth and can chew threw anything. (You should see her crib!) Anyway, in an attempt to save some of them, I took the 5 letters of her name and hung them up in her room to spell out her name with the pictures of the animals. They make for very cute room decor as well. When she is a little older and past the "putting everything in her mouth" stage, I will definitely be ordering her a new set to play with and learn her letters. I would recommend this set to anyone.

Love these flash cards! They are made of a thicker material making them much more durable then others. I also love the colors and am just a big fan of Eric Carle in general.

I am a little baffled as to why people are whinging about the animals that make up the letters 'U' 'Q' and 'X.' I would be interested to see what animals they come up with that are less 'obscure!' Or perhaps it would have been better to have missed those letters out altogether, just so as not to 'confuse' the child! An 'urchin' is just as easily learnt as a 'zebra.' We adults tend to shy away from teaching our kids things/ words we don't understand ourselves! Anyway, whinging aside, these cards are beautiful. They are bigger than expected and very durable.... yes, they may not withstand a teething toddler, but they are more durable than any other flash cards I have ever seen! They are for toddlers, not babies! Again, how could these be better made in order to be knaw proof?! They could have been laminated paper and not nearly so nice and still bendable! They are made of thick card and they are simple and eye catching and, I say it again, stunning. Beautifully presented in a lovely little box, a GORGEOUS gift for a child on his/ her second birthday, or for any occasion! I am thrilled with these and will be ordering another set to stick on the wall! Super chuffed! :)

It's quite useful to teach new words in English and the cardboard is sturdy. The box is also to keep them is also really nice and handy.
