For this price I was expecting flimsy particle board. Real wood. Not too heavy like oak, but real wood with substance. Everything else I researched was in the $400 range. Took a risk and hit the jackpot.This can be painted or stained. Looks pretty cool the way it is. We’ve left it this “as is” for over a month now and it’s growing on us.PS- I bought this for a 30” closet door. I could have bought a smaller slider door to also do this job, but glad I bought this bigger size. I recommend the bigger size IF the wall you’re mounting it on is somewhat long. It makes the door look more prominent.

I’m writing this review on behalf of my husband since he was the one that had to put this together lol. For the price of this door, the quality is excellent. Solid wood not cheap particle board. You do have to put the door together yourself in order to install it…but it clearly states that in the description. My husband, who is very experienced in construction, said the directions provided were some of the best as it was actual step by step and not just some dumb pictures leaving you to guess many of the steps. Well worth the price!

My husband I put his up and then found that it was too small. We are experienced DIYers and decided to widen the door. This is the result. I will stain it so that it will match the cabinets my husband built for the laundry room!

If you don’t mind assembling the door and cutting a header board, this barn door is for you. I was impressed with the quality of the hardware and the fit of the door. The directions are clear. Take your time and double check your measurements and you will be impressed with the results. I just ordered another one this morning. Great price!

When I realized I needed a header board between the rail and the drywall where I wanted to hang this I wondered if I made a mistake attempting this thing, but we put up a 1x4x8 piece of wood by first locating the studs in the wall, nailing it into those studs and the rest of the instructions were easy to follow.The ease of the project will depend on how much man or woman power you have. The door is considerably heavy and wide so at least 2 people should attempt the installation.Overall pretty quick assembly from start to finish. Took me about 2 hours including piecing the door together.

If your looking for a barn door, this is definitely the one. I ordered the natural door. All the pieces were in the package nicely wrapped. The hardware was better quality then I imagined. What took the longest was staining and the stain applied nicely to the wood. We used a real piece of wood for the header and made sure to screw in the studs. I didn’t care for the door handle that came with it so I bought a double sided one from Amazon. Because we are using both sides of the door we needed a handle on both sides.All in all It came out perfect and we love it!5 stars!

know what you are getting into. You will have to assemble the door and then paint or stain (etc.). Get some help too. You will need it for the hanging and more. I am happy with the product. Well worth the purchase price.

Everything as far as putting it together went well but for some reason it will never stay shut. ever. it catches on the roller and goes completely backwards on the track no matter how hard or how carefully we pull. It's probably not level or warped but we just gave up and took it off the rail til we can figure it out.Great quality, rubbish result.
