AKG is a health and longevity supplement I researched some time ago, and purchased for health and longevity benefits. I cannot say for the longevity, but the research findings are available on line, for those who want further information, regarding the usefulness of this compound, for DNA repair, energy, and animal longevity studies were have been performed. Leading longevity experts, such as Dr. Sinclair, a Harvard University scientist and researcher, has highlighted this product among others for the multiple health benefits it provides. I have not taken this product long term, and have not tested myself with follow up blood work, and other tests, as Dr. Sinclair has done, so I not have body age reversal results for using this product. Much science is available online, for those who research, or want to research further, and to optimize their healthy support routines. I believe this item, should be foremost on your list of supplements, if you can tolerate capsules, otherwise, a pure powder form with this leading brand, or otherwise available through other retailers are available. I will probably order this product in powder form, and not capsules as seen here. I take multiple vitamins at the same time, and all those capsules do not always dissolve, and so for myself as well as others, AKG powder is a superior way to go, on an empty stomach before or between meals with water.

I am taking AKG on the suggestion from a naturopath to gain bone mass. I have osteoporosis. Not taking Rx. I started this product 3 months ago and did feel a lift in energy within a day or two. I cut the dosage in half (1-500 mg capsule instead of 2) a month ago to even out my energy level. I was feeling hyper in the morning and washed out in the afternoon. I am a small, active woman in my 70's. On 500 mg I am comfortably engaged in my schedule throughout the day. On the downside, my internal thermostat seems to be moving to a higher temperature. I get warm quickly, sweat more. That may be a good thing while I'm exercising but not so much when I'm cooking and eating meals. I may have to cut back on my dosage again if it reaches the lovel of flushing and hot flashes. I intend to continue taking this product and will review it again after my next bone scan.

For cardiac and bone health.

I have purchased a number of products from ProHealth and they seem to be of high quality. This particular product, AKG has been shown to slow the progression of some aging related changes. Animal studies have shown it to increase glutathione activity (most important and abundant antioxidant in your body) and decrease superoxide activity (nasty free radical) for just one benefit. On a purely subjective basis it seems to give me a bit more energy (it is a limiting factor in the Krebs cycle). I'll try it for a while and maybe update my review later.

Have been doing a great deal of research on ca akg since I am a retired gerontologist and also 65 years old. The research and benefits based on lab studies is very exciting specifically with increased life span but even health span. My wife and I take 2 pills each morning with our coffee and do not take any other supplements for at least an hour (per my research it is more effective if taken without other supplements). I have noticed more energy since taking it and hoping the research on lifespan/healthspan plays out for my wife and I.

Was delighted to find Calcium with AKG and no magnesium sterate. Doesn’t bother my stomach. Was disappointed to notice some of the capsules are not full so that’s why I took off two stars. Most are full but I feel I’m not getting the full dosage for those which are partially filled. I have bought this for several months now. Before that I got Toniiq which was great too but has magnesium sterate. I plan to look for another brand though I liked the ingredients for this one, they are also a great size, easy to swallow. The value? Found it it high cost so sometimes or usually get the other more affordable one (not competitive pricing)
