Scratch & Sketch Extreme Mandalas (Trace Along) (Scratch and Sketch Trace-Along)

I loved this! it a learning curve at first if you wear a watch id suggest taking it off i scratched unintentionally quite a few times but its very shiny and pretty. Theres gold pages, silver pages and then multicolor. The oneeee thing i wasnt thrilled about was the pictures clearly werent meant for scratch art theres some very small details that no matter how steady your hand its to small and it all scratches off..but this was for fun and not going in a museum somewhere..so oh well i liked that there was the same design on paper i traced those with fine tip sharpie markers and it was just as nice and you could get more of the small details in on that page..ill def. Be ordering another! Oh and the pen works well the slanted end of the pen i didnt use at all it seemed to flimsy to make a clean line and also not as sharp but it would be nicer if the back end had an even smaller point that the front because some of those lines are tiny compared to the front tip.

This book is super calming and I love the colors!

I LOVE this product and will definitely be buying it again! It has provided HOURS of entertainment for me as well as provided me a way to calm down when stressed out. There are several different designs, many of which are very intricate, so they can take a while. There are a couple simpler designs, which I wish there were a few more. Different holographic type backgrounds include silver, gold and rainbow so far. The best thing is the scratching tool that comes with it. The sharp end is great for details! Unfortunately the other angled end doesn't really serve it's purpose. I couldn't get it to scratch off anything. It's pretty dull. I use a wooden nail stick instead. Overall, GREAT product! I would definitely buy this again or give it as a gift to a teen or adult, maybe even an older child. Not suitable for the littles.

I first discovered this type of scratch art sheet at a Japanese chain called Daiso. Admittedly, it does take a while to get into the hobby. The biggest beginner mistake is probably impatience and trying to rush through it. But once you get into, this is a fine time wasting hobby that is relaxing and calming. This volume is called Extreme for a reason - some of the design is definitely not a single-sitting activity and will require multiple days to get it done - but that's part of the fun. The mandala designs in this volume are very beautiful and suitable for adult audience. My only complaint is that it's a bit pricy for 20 sheets of scratch sheets. The rest are blank pages for "meditative mandala sketches", which I'd imagine for most people a waste of space and pure filler. For the price, I'd expect around 30 scratch sheets and no filler. Once you have that, I will probably buy them all and rate them 5 stars.

Good amount for the price,

I am a well-rounded artist - sketching, painting, digital, graphic design, web -- anything creative.I love to color, but I wanted to try something different. This is definitely filling that need!For me, there was a bit of a learning curve on how to scratch neatly and at various widths. Having a stiff bristle paint brush is extremely helpful!I also purchased a Mandala Art Tool Kit that had other useful items - various "dotting" styli (although I have used these in the past for embossing and debossing paper crafts).I do wish the size of the book was larger. I'm having a hard time finding other scratch art books that have variety to them (not just for kids or the same themes).I am purchasing a sharper stylus because a lot of the illustrations have very small lines that I just can't get with the provided one. I'd use a toothpick, but that would hurt after a while! Two of my photos show (or attempt) how thin the line is with the provided stylus. The illustration I'm working on has thick lines - most are NOT this thick.Please give this a try if you are looking for something different to do!

This is an awesome book, but want to leave a review to let everyone know that the scratch surface is very fine because they are mandala's and they are meant to be intricate and fine. With that being said, it is difficult to properly scratch the designs. I will be looking for different books with bigger scratch patterns, as it is really awesome.

Great little book for adults & children. There are the scratch art ones & on the other page is the same picture that you can colour in. So adults & children could do these together. Really good quality bookYou get 17 pictures to scratch, 17 pictures to colour and a little notebook at the end of the book.I'm impressed with this and I highly recommend buying this and there are others in this set which I will be buying. Buy as a present or foe yourself or both at this price. Really do recommend grabbing these. Passes the time & you have a lovely picture at the end. Everybody enjoy.It arrived the next day and was packaged well. Impressed xx

This is great for those who want to create art but are not artistic tracing the lines can be tricky with the stylus however once you pick it up it’s very addictive and extremely relaxing! I find myself getting lost for hours

As you can see difficulty varries. But is in general more detailed only one was really simple. Also for this one there are 3 colors for the metalic background: gold, multicolor and silver. Some I would suggest better tools than the ones provided I often use a toothpick or bamboo skewers that I sharpen with sandpaper when they become dull. I also use other tools like clay tools and caligraphy pens which can be sharpen and found for cheap.
