Q: thickness of leather can be used with?

I have only used these eyelets with paper. I would maybe say only an eighth of an inch thickness when being used with leather.

Q: can these be used with a hand press machine with a #2 or #0 die, and also do you sell them in copper or black?

Yes I use them with a hand press machine.

Q: Do these require a washer on the back or is only one piece needed to self close?

I close with a crop-o-dial. No washer is needed.
