Fantastic Buy!
Game changing and life altering buy. I tried People Socks Unisex Merino Wool Antimicrobial Crew Socks, 4 Pairs these socks to help with dryness around the house and keeping my feet dry out in the South Florida humidity and loved them. I decided to try these for working out, running, hiking etc.PROS:COMFORT - They feel like your average no-show socks. They are light, snug, and don't move in my shoe. Post workout, my feet still felt relatively dry. They were MUCH more dry than they used to be after working out in cotton socks.QUALITY - Wool socks are often sold by weight of the sock depending on the weather you will generally wear them in. Heavy - Ultra Light. These are ultra lights with 54% wool count. It is one the higher wool percentages in the ultra light weight I have seen. Having only a couple pair, I am wearing these a lot and they feel just as great today as they did when I first received them. No signs of deterioration.CONS:COST - The price fluctuates on these socks fairly often but is often between $15 - $20 PER PAIR. If you are used to buying athletic socks by the 1/2 or complete dozen, you might get some sticker shock. There is no way around it, wool socks are expensive. If you end up loving them as much as I do, replacing your inventory with wool is going to cost quite a bit.CARE - Wool socks require extra care to maintain. Washing them inside out and air or tumble drying. Is it a big deal? Absolutely not. At least not to me, but it is indeed additional from the norm.CONCLUSION:If you know how great wool socks are and looking to get athletic socks for warm weather, these are a solid buy.

go to socks for running, hiking & workouts!
these socks are SUPER! for the last 2+ years, i’ve rotated 2 pair of smartwool phd running socks for 5 days/week workouts (one thinner pair and one thick like these). they hold up well and are definitely worth the investment!!my new shoes are black so i am adding this pair to the rotation - the other two pair are still in pretty good shape. the slightly thicker variety, i remember do feel slightly warmer in hot weather compared to the thinner ones - as would seem obvious 🤔 but, that’s what is so great about wool tho’, they’re always breathable and moisture wicking... just depends on what feel you prefer.i wear size 8 and they fit perfectly snug.these socks have also been such a great addition on long jungle treks in peru, keeping my feet dry and blister free. they handwash easily, dry quickly and overall perform very well!!i love these socks!!ps. in the picture i am wearing one of the white pair mentioned above. it’s the same, only white, and now at least two years old. these socks have traveled the world with me and are still in great shape. 🧦 👊🏼

Great socks! Perfect for winter running or activities!
I was looking for a wool based running sock to wear to a New Year’s Day 5k that was going to have temps in single digits. I love Balega Enduro socks to run in but they are no match for the cold temps (cold feet within minutes of starting my run). I did not want a bulky sock since I did not want to risk blisters or a bad fit with my running shoes. After lots of research I ordered these Smartwool PHD’s. I am happy I did. They are very comfortable and my feet never felt cold during the race or subsequent runs in single digits. Besides the obvious different of being wool, they are a little puffy/cushioned in the pressure points but not enough to impact my running shoe fit. I am a 9.5 women’s shoe person and everything said to order a M but I ordered a large. Hindsight, the M would have been fine though I had no issue with the large. My only semi-criticism would be that the band at the ankle is tighter than the Balega Enduro series which seemed a little bothersome for a few minutes during their first wear. It must have stretched a little since it bothers me less now. All in all very pleased with this purchase. Great socks to keep you warm in.

Overall these were better than what I usually wear and I would purchase ...
I purchased this on a whim mainly because I was running a race on New Year's day and was expecting wet and cold weather. I was concerned about the wet weather and keeping my feet less soaked and somewhat not freezing. The weather was not wet at all (thankfully) but it was colder than usual. I probably should have paid more attention to the description of these sock as they were "light." These are light and did not keep my toes warm one bit. I should have opted for thicker socks. Overall these were better than what I usually wear and I would purchase these again especially if I was running in warmer weather. I have since used these socks to run on the treadmill and exercise, and they have been fine. Not sure I'd pay the price I paid again for just one pair of socks.

Love them so much...I purchased more
I Like these, really really like them. First off, last year I went along on a business trip with my husband to China and South Korea. In my last minute hurry to pack, I only had 2 pairs of socks, for a 13 day trip. Two of these. I ended up wearing them for 2-3 days, while waiting for them to dry, as I was washing the one I wasn't wearing. Gross right? Well, there was no stink (yes, I smelled my socks each evening) after long days exploring Beijing, the Great Wall and Seoul and the DMZ. I was thankful that I found these. Oh yes, why did I not purchase socks you might ask......their feet are a lot smaller, and the ladies socks I did purchase, ended up fitting my 9 year old daughter, who is in a size 1 shoe.Only drawback is the pilling, but I'm ok with that.Original one I have had for about a year pictured on the left, and new one which I wore and washed once on the right
