DennerleScaper Flow Cansiter Filter

I’ve had this filter on my 10 gallon aquarium since 2021 and the quality has held up thus far. Still quite but a little less flow as of now but i don’t see that as a negative because the flow was quite strong to begin with and unadjustable, but an easy fix if you run the system as a canister filter just add a valve to your outflow tube and just adjust the flow with the valve. The filter itself is simple to clean, i have it otb so i just pull the whole unit out into a bucket and take it apart and the design makes it quite easy to access the filter baskets inside to give a quick rinse. All in all i’m still quite satisfied with my purchase till this day.

motor burnt out within a month of buying this filter. it worked great at first. but within 2 - 3 weeks the motor started burning out for no reason.

So the Dennerle hob filter itself works like a charm. Keeps my water crystal clean so with that I’m happy. Problem is he Lily filter keeps falling off into the water, it just won’t stay on no matter what.

After buying and using it for a while....kinda regret it. Shoulda know not to buy dennerle stuff after buying the dennerle scapers tank forever ago for an outrageous price. I was new to the hobby when i purchased that. Figured might as well match the products. I do not really like this filter too much. Alot of other cheaper mini canister filters. Good if you wanna just have a super nice HOB but not for a canister. Doesnt come with enough parts to make it a canister filter even though its marketed as one. No flexible tubing is included.

When I first received this filter it was one of the nicest little filters I've had: subtle, quiet, simple to prime... It's been 6 weeks and the filter will no longer prime or work whatsoever. When I took it apart to clean the impeller, there were magnetic fragments inside that were grinding the impeller against the walls of the pump. I cleaned it out, cleared out all of the grit, and set it back up. It still will not prime regardless of how I prime it, using their priming port, which leaks, sucking through the outflow, blowing water through the inflow, nothing works. I have a filter that runs 525 GPH that I purchased for $20 less that is 4 years old and still running like a champ. 6 weeks is unacceptable for a high-end filter.

Its a solid filter, Ive had no problems in months, but i want to recommend that if youre using it with a 10 gallon you should change the lily pipe to a spin pipe. The lily pipe was much to strong of a current for my white clouds and shrimps believe it or not.

This is a fantastic unit. Replaced my aquaclear 30. I will be buying these for all my aquariums. One side note. Flow is strong in my 10 gallon plant only tank. Maybe to much for some fish.

Easy to setup. Only 3 stars for missing flow rate adjustment function. So powerful output makes my fish in a 15 gallons tank exhausted. I have to purchase a separate flow control valve to reduce the flow.
