Totally amazing..... Perfect period piece. It's the price that make makes the costume complete. Five stars all the way...plus it comes with a display stand. The helmet comes with a healthy coat of oil on it so it requires a soft cleaning...just wipe some of if off.

This helmet is really cool, good quality build, and came oiled to prevent rust. On that, if you live in a humid area like myself, make sure you keep it lightly oiled and don’t wipe it off to bare metal (I made that mistake and screwed up my finnish to fix it). I would also recommend some foam padding on the inside to help stabilize it on your head If you plan to wear it to go along with the leather head band bit it comes with.

Package arrived very quickly (always a bonus). Medieval Armour is and always has been expensive, this seemed to be the best deal for a Crusader type helmet considering most reproductions are priced well over $100. My brother said he wanted a Crusader helmet months ago, and hopefully forgot about it because is birthday is next Saturday, it's a surprise. It is simply made with some rough edges. The brass cross has some sharp edges that threaten to cut my nose. The 3 silver colored parts are steel and the 3 golden colored cross parts are brass. It was covered in a film of oil so wipe it off before playing with it and do make sure to not let yours rust. It has a liner made of imitation leather held in by glue and the rivets for the leather chinstrap. Do not expect the liner to function or even stay inside for very long. Other similar replica helmets do not have liners. I know little of Medieval Armour, but suspect that such helmets were worn over chain mail coifs (hoods) with another padded coif under that to act as a cushion and to keep the wearer's hair from getting ripped out from the mail. I suggest wearing a hood under it and filing/sanding/grinding or padding the sharp bits somehow. The chinstrap is actual leather, but the buckle seems weak and the straps are too long for my huge head. The whole thing is held together with 20 rivets and I suspect it was made entirely by hand in India. I also think actual Medieval Armour/authentic replicas are much stronger, heavier, and of a much finer quality than this, but also many times more expensive. Cons: rough edges, liner and chinstrap exist only in an academic sense and are afterthoughts, metal display stand was also an afterthought, advise you wear padding for prolonged use, the "breaths" (air holes) are not very even, differs slightly from photos, it's pretty apparent that it is not for actual protective use and seems to be more of decorative/costume use. Pros: it looks great, it fit's my big head (US 7 3/4" hat size or roughly 60 cm), it "did" come with a display stand, you really cannot complain about the helmet costing this much less than $100 ($46.99 at the time)! Some small cons and great pros for an inexpensive costume helmet we all fantasized about having as kids.

This is extremely well made. It is heavy steel, and properly greased for packaging and shipping. It is an excellent showpiece, comes with a nice stand, and also good for costume/ larp/ cosplay. Most impressed that it fit my head, as I wear a 2XL motorcycle helmet. My nose just barely touches the inside.
