Improvement from the 1st generation
Definitely an improvement from the 1st generation indoor camera series.Better image quality and sound. The only thing I don’t like is that you can only use it in the Google Home app and not the Nest app (which is advertised and I was aware of).

Keeping this camera
Just a heads up you only get "event" view for free with nest cameras, but for $8 that changes across all nest cameras. This camera is extremely easy to set up, Google Home is a wonderful app that hasn't caused any issues for us, the design is nice and build quality feels solid. Connection to the camera is the best we've experienced (many cameras use 2.4ghz for streaming), which is awful. This has run at 99.9% consistentcy and even with that missing percent it was due to the phone not connecting, not the camera itself shutting off. We returned two Chinese cameras and got this camera, which was significantly more expensive but worth the investment. Night vision is excellent and there are plenty of other features within the app. Oh, and the AI it uses is incredible, you can record in your home and have it only recognize a pet or individual person instead of it notifying you of everything it sees. Talking through it also works perfectly. Little to no delay on streaming. 5 stars.

Almost best in its class.
One of the best to use, setup, find the quality picture and video view. Just install anywhere close to electric outlet and setup in your google account. It has very good range to see the Wi-Fi and connected easily. A little bit price but overall is very good.

Ever Wanted to Call Your Dog?
Ever wanted to call your dog? Now you can! This camera is a game-changer. Setup was a breeze, it arrived quickly, and the quality is top-notch. The video is super clear, and the sound? Incredible. You know how when you FaceTime your dog on a family member’s phone, they get excited for a second and then totally ignore you? Not with this camera! There’s something about the sound that grabs their attention. My pets—both dogs and cats—actually come to the camera when I call. My dog even brings a toy, and my cats hilariously start searching the house for me!It’s perfect for checking in, making sure everyone’s okay, and even easing my elderly dog’s separation anxiety. The only thing missing is a treat dispenser! Plus, it records motion-triggered clips that are saved for up to three hours and automatically deletes them—no subscription required. If you want a fun and easy way to stay connected with your pets, or check in on things at home I highly recommend this camera. It’s like FaceTime, but better—for you and your furry friends!

As good as any Nest cam, does not work well with Alexa
I used to have a Dropcam Pro back when Nest bought Dropcam. Then, of course, Google ended up buying Nest later. I had moved to Eufy, and Eufy had some disastrous privacy issues leading me to switch back to what I know the best, Nest..err, Google.I got it hoping it would work well with Alexa (Amazon Echo Dot) to notify me of person alerts, etc, as Google had finally created an Alexa Skill. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The Alexa skill is limited, and can only send out alerts if unrecognized motion is detected. If the camera detects a person, even if not a familiar face, it will not notify Amazon/Alexa. This was not at all what I expected. The only way around this would be to turn off person detection and use motion detection, but that would be a considerable downgrade, and I paid a lot for this camera to get what it offers.I won't be the first to say this, but if you are used to the Nest app, do not expect the same experience using the Google Home app. Google Home app is much worse, even on Android. I'm not too fond of it, and they need to do more updates and overall UI changes for it to be usable.

Works great!
Super simple to hook into my Google Nest system. Love the face recognition and ability to control pushed alerts. Also really appreciate the ability to schedule and automate when and why everything comes on.I have 3 more cameras to hook up as well as a doorbell with a camera and multiple floodlight cameras. I did purchase the Google Nest Aware access today for $80 a year. This allows multiple extra features and 30-60 days of video storage. This is the 2nd camera of my home security system. I have my entire house Googled-up - from thermost, to light/lamp control, speakers, Wifi, doorbell, televisions, hottub, LED lighting, and soon to be a total of 5 cameras (and a lot more!), it is quite impressive to say the least. These features are especially nice in a 1970s home where all of your house lights are literally floor/table lamps (in the early 70s, not having overhead lights controlled by switches was all the rage!). Turning on 25 lamps multiple times a day becomes a miserable task. Wifi 120v power plug sockets are amazing!Note that the photo is simply a screenshot taken from my Google Home app at night with no lights on. The top camera is the Google Nest (no infrared) and the bottom is the feed from this camera with night vision turned on. The nightvision/infrared is black and white. During the day, or when the lights are on, both cameras have clear, crisp pictures with sound.
