Will this bag fit a 7.5 foot tree?

Is this material a plastic kind?

Yes. The entire bag (with the exception being the handles which are made of cloth) is plastic.

Why do some reviews say that it will not hold a 9ft tree and some say it will? - confusing.

I'm guessing that it depends on how the 9' tree breaks down. We have a 7 1/2 ' tree that breaks down into 3 pieces, and this bag had plenty of room for it, the tree stand, and misc. strings of lights we use around the house. Much more could have fit in this bag if necessary. So far, this has been an excellent (and inexpensive) purchase.

what are the exact measurements of this item. Am kinda confused with the product info giving different measurements from the product details. Thanks
