These lamps are very pretty and being used on a 65" antique credenza. They look simply amazing. The quality is exactly as expected and they arrived in perfect condition. I'm using 40watt amber edison bulbs for a soft glow. I have 3 other lamps from this seller, Lamps Plus, and can't recommend them enough. Shipping was quick and in very protective boxes.

Glamorous style that was easy to assemble. Just very nice quality lamps. Perfect size for our bedside tables.

The painting on these bases is excellent. It's not a white wash at all (which wouldn't look as nice), it's a gray wash over a dark copper/bronze color, and looks very classy in a traditional home setting or a California casual setting with tone on tone shades of off-white, cream, and so on. These are pretty hard to tell from actual Venetian carved wooden candlesticks unless you're really up close looking at them, and even then there's nothing objectionable at all about them. They're also easy to assemble. Getting all the packaging off takes longer than actual assembly. The one thing I didn't like about these lamps were the shades. I didn't like the shape, size, or the color. They seem slightly too big for the lamps, and I swapped one out with a slightly smaller bell/square shaped shade that suited it much better just to see, so I ordered two shades this morning (so potentially add the cost of adding two shades to the excellent price for these two lamps). This shade fabric they ship with will look yellowish to pinkish-beige depending on the bulb you use with them. The pinkish-beige color reminds me of ladies "flesh"-colored undergarments in the 1960s. Anyway, replace the shade with one in ivory/ecru or a black one that doesn't let light shine through (not easy to find these days) and these look absolutely expensive. (A black one that's fabric-covered and does let light shine through will look cheap.) As for the original shades, I've ordered replacements this morning (I could only stand them one day) and they're going up for sale on eBay, so that will defray part of the cost of replacements. :) The shade I ordered to replace these is Royal Designs Square Bell Basic Lamp Shade in color Eggshell, size 5 x 10 x 9. I might need a 1/2" smaller harp for each lamp too. We'll see when the shades get here, but those pretty much match the one I tried as a replacement shade in size and shape, and the lamps are much more classy looking with this shape and size. I will say, too, that Lamps Plus shipped right to my home very quickly, and the items were well packed. I wouldn't hesitate to order these again if I needed them, and I'd highly recommend these, which is why I took the time to write a review. They're not a great bedside table lamp (too small), but they're excellent as two lamps on a desk, on a buffet, or on a console table with a mirror behind them.
