Living Judaism: The Complete Guide to Jewish Belief, Tradition, and Practice Review: An absolutely essential book. - As a person going through conversion, this book is the one that I turn to regularly to help clarify and understand everything about Judaism. It’s also the primary learning book for my conversion class and we use it as a leaping off point for lectures, discussions, and questions. I especially appreciate how well this book blends information with a lovely poetic voice, adding a sense of beauty and awe as it asks some giant questions like, “where was God when...” I highly recommend this book for anyone who wishes to have a solid beginner’s foundation of understanding of Judaism. Review: Good Book for Learning of Judaism - Good book, as a person raised Christian, I wanted to open my world to understand Judaism. Super interesting book, but more importantly this Rabbi seems so kind and delivers the faith in an easy to understand way. He also compares and contrasts certain pieces of the faith in one chapter, and it really helped understand how things are similar but different.

Great for Class
I have used this book for years for my Conversion classes and for my basic Judaism classes. The practical and spiritual descriptions (which, by the way, appear on pages highlighted with Tallit stripes) and explanations are beautifully written and very understandable. Yes, it's an older book, but as modern Judaism is concerned, it is certainly a classic.

Great Overview, Showing Orthodox and Liberal Views
Rabbi Dosick has compiled a wonderful introduction to Judaism that provides a clear window for the outsider to peer into this historic, sometimes puzzling, world that is Judaism. Broken down into logical categories, the book is also indexed, so it can be used as an easy reference. Topics include descriptions of the various Jewish sects, Jewish holidays, the Holocaust, Jewish views of non-Jews, life after death, and discussions about all the major Jewish rituals. As three of the world's major religions trace their beginnings back to Abraham, this book should prove a help to most who are unfamiliar with their ties to Judaism.

Best and fullest explanation of Judaism
Rabbi Dosick has done a wonderful, detailed job of explaining the holy books, rituals, holidays, history of the Jews. I have a much better idea now of what Jews believe and why. I know where the major personalities fit into the cultural timeline. I have much more fellow-feeling for the Jews, thank you, Rabbi. I had wanted to better understand Christ, as a Jew - and I feel I do now.

Full of Information
I thoroughly enjoy the book so far. It seems very thought out and researched. This is a perfect book for new Jews to learn a little more about the religion before reaching the end of your process.

Captivating, Joyous and Poignant
I highly recommend this remarkably well written guide. Whether you desire to better understand your Jewish ancestry, or simply want to know more about Judaism, this book covers everything from origin, history, traditions, and so much more. The people and the plight. I'm sure to reference this guide for many years to come.
