why is it advertised at 800 watts?

Back in the ol days of internet commerce (apr '99 til '09) you would always see these dinky sound systems on [other e-commerce sites] claiming 500W, 1000, 2000, I think I recall one claiming 5kW peak power. Needless to say, none came even close. This is the return of the "Peak power" or "peak Watts" or as I like to call it "POP" - "Peak Output Ploy". Can the system deliver X hundred or thousand watts? Yes. For about a millisecond or two. What you want to know is the RMS output - the steady state max output the amplifier and driver can run with out distorting or damaging itself. I bought (and returned) this unit because they clearly spent more time "engineering" the light show than the bass resonance chamber correctly or with the proper materials. And the sticker on the bottom clearly said "Max RMS Out: 24W" I bought an returned like four Pyle boomers because their audio engineering/shaping is terrible. They don't understand how to engineer a resonance chamber correctly at all. Nor do they know how to shape sound pressure diffusion. It only sounds loud from one side, the front. Turn it to the side and it loses what little depth of sound field it has. It's got pretty lights though. I don't care about pretty lights, I like clean full range sound, and I don't like sloppy bass. That was the worst part, the bass was SLOPPY. {Dear comment reviewer, please leave this last bit in, but cut if you must because I'm going to mention band names} I like a wide range of music, from opera to thrash metal. KMFDM is an industrial band that makes some of the most creative uses of bass. and on this system, it sounded AWFUL, it had no depth, it was sloppy, it wasn't even that powerful, and it annihilated the subtle nuance and feel their bass has on a good system. Same thing with Sting - the rising subsonic beginning of "A Thousand Years" that swells in to the first verses was at first inaudible, then just janky and blunted. So long story short, if you want a GOOD boomer, look elsewhere. The best brands don't even advertise ridiculous peak output wattages. They advertise their RMS power solely, theres another brand, let's call them "audio central" so as not to offend the sensors about "advertising" other brands in their product's comments. Nowhere on their product page do they mention "Peak Watts", only the RMS - 80 watts. That's one of the best portable audio systems I've ever heard. KMFDM's bass artistry comes off crystal clear, and the fade in for Sting's "A Thousand Years" - I think the bass response on the system might extend in to the subsonic because turned to max the room and table practically start rumbling before the bass line enters the audible range. And it's clean matte sheen black except for the indicator lights, no need for a light show to distract from poor audio fidelity.

Great sound for the price!

I own several Bluetooth speakers from Bose to Klipsch to no name speakers. This is by far is my favorite. The sound is pretty clean and crisp with little to no distortion at max volume and has some bass along with it. Now I’m not comparing this Pile to the more expensive popular brands. I’m just saying that for the money this thing rocks. I haven’t tested out the battery life yet at max volume but it lasted at least 5 hours at mid to low volume for me. The one thing that I don’t like about it is that you can’t turn the lights off. Not really a deal breaker in my opinion. If your looking for something that is small then don’t get this one. It does have some size to it.

Works, great sound, sturdy, no issues

Great sound,lots of grab handles,small package big sound and value. Played in shop,barn, house and garden no connectivity issues, distance is about 75’-100’ feet. Good product

Not as loud as I thought it would be for the wats

It’s an outdoor party speaker. I also use it on my golf cart. I thought by the wattage it would be louder. My older speaker has better base.

Not worth the money

This speaker gets blown out of the water by almost every speaker!!! I wanted a loud one and this is not the one i wish i could return it for the price i paid for it!! The batter doesn’t last very long at all and the speakers always sound blown

sound quality is great and love the portability

Love the unit. Sound quality is great. very portable and nice to take on a picnic or camping with us. Battery lasts a long time. very please. Only thing I don't like is when you turn it on, it automatically connects to the last bluetooth device. I was outside on the patio and wanted to listen to music and turned it on. My husband's phone was the last one connected to it and even though mine was closer (he was in bed 2 floors up and approx 75 ft away, it connected to his phone. Bluetooth range is great for sure, but can't figure out how to connect my phone without shutting his bluetooth off. Other than that, I love the unit! We use it with the Spotify app.
