Saikai Touki Saikai Pottery Traiditional Japanese Rice Bowls (5 Bowls Set) 31623 from Japan (One Pack)

I saw this set in a Japanese store in Singapore, and passed on purchasing it because of the cost. Back in the States, I happened upon it while browsing Amazon and was surprised to find it there with a more reasonable price. Five bowls in a set is a bit odd, but I have not come up short of bowls yet while entertaining. They are perfect for rice, and I also use them for dipping sauces. I love the variety of designs, and they complement each other well. The quality of manufacture is second to none. I love my bowls!

Just unboxed the pretty little bowls and couldn't be happier. The packaging was very nice and the bowls themselves are exactly what I was looking for - a pretty small bowl for holding rice. These are for rice or other side dishes and would not work as cereal bowls. If you're looking for versatile bowls that can work for soup, cereal, etc., these are not it. They are too small. But if you're looking for a nice delicate bowl for serving rice, these are really nice! I've included some photos next to a large and medium cereal bowl for reference.

These are beautiful bowls, but they are tiny. Perfect size for holding a head of garlic or two on the countertop, which is what I was looking for. If you are looking for regular US-sized bowls, get something else (I found very similar larger bowls in Home Goods for around $6 each). If you are looking for something smaller than what you can usually find in the stores, then this is your product. Bowls came in a giftable box. These would make a nice housewarming gift.

I love the quality of the bowls . They are very beautifully detailed .I use them as rice bowls and they have been wonderful. My only dissapointment was one of the bowls was broken when I received it. I would still order more from this company though .

Small and delicate so read the size. Just what I expected. Would you believe me if I told you that these are as nice if not nicer than most similar bowls you’re going to see In Japan and the cost is much less. Love them!

I don't have many expensive weaknesses, but the few I do...usually involve dishes. Specifically, Japanese dishes, which is how I ended up spending such a ridiculous amount on this set of five rice bowls. I'm not sure if I'd have been just as happy with a set from the 100 yen store or not, but I can say that I think that these, with their different blue and white with brown edging styles, are simply lovely. I typically hand wash such items and have had no trouble keeping them clean and safe, and they look great with my other (often similarly colored) Japanese dishes. If I could go back in time, I'd buy them again, which goes to show that I don't have a bit of buyer's remorse.

I didn’t realize how small these bowls are so I was surprised when I opened the box to find these cute little bowls. But I also didn’t read the measurements so that was my fault! They are about 5” bowls perfect for little side dishes of rice or sauces. They are not large enough for soup. But they are perfect.They came in a lovely box, beautiful for gifting. The bowls are really pretty and look elegant. I really love them and the hand painted designs.
