Love it, has made me a seltzer drinker
This thing is dead simple and works great. It requires no power source and has a pretty small footprint. I have never been much of a seltzer drinker, but now I pretty much exclusively drink highly carbonated, unflavored water. Funny thing is, I bought this for my significant other. She is a seltzer addict, and likes this just fine. She enjoys the serious concentration of bubbles you get with this. I did not expect to get in on the action, but here I am. I really have no issues with this, after a year. It makes really fizzy water, and the water stays fizzy for hours in the bottle with the cap closed. It takes seconds to make. Two two-second pushes of the button and you are good. Do yourself a favor, and buy a CO2 tank (like this - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IE1DJ2I) and get it refilled at a place that does home brewing, or a commercial beverage supplier. Look around online and see what's in your area, before buying a tank, of course, but if there is anything around, do it. You will save a lot of money versus doing the exchange on the little cartridge that comes with it. If you decided to go this route, the only other thing you need is an adapter (like this - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CP96GL76) to go between the cartridge and tank. Look for videos on YouTube. It might seem scary, but it's really no big deal, in my experience. The tank has already paid for itself, no question. I fill it for $20. Drinkmate will only let you send back at least two empty cartridges. This comes with one, which would mean you have to buy a second to send back and get a $20 "coupon" to use on buying more cartridges, which start at $60 for two (before "coupon") plus shipping and tax. It's not hard to figure out that buying your own tank is the way to go, if you can swing it. You should probably also buy more beverage bottles, unless you live alone or only one person will use it. Keep in mind they expire, so don't buy them just to buy. The expiration maybe seems dumb, but I do suppose that constant pressurizing takes a toll on the plastic.

Game changer
“A major upgrade in every way. It carbonates regular water better than my old machine, and it handles any beverage with far less effort and hassle. The build quality is excellent—I’m genuinely impressed. I wish I had bought this instead of the standard SodaStream from the start.”

STOP YOUR SODA MAKER SEARCH AND BUY THIS ONE!!
I’ve wanted a soda maker since they first popped up in the market. I had seriously considered purchasing this one about 2 years ago since it’s the only one that can carbonate everything, but never did because it just seemed like a product that was “too good to be true.” I am very sorry that I didn’t purchase this 2 years ago....it is AMAZING. No idea whatsoever why this isn’t the very first machine that pops up in stores and ads when you search for a soda maker. This thing is HIGHLY UNDERRATED!! Easy to use, less waste and cheaper than buying a carbonated beverage every day, TASTES JUST LIKE A STORE BOUGHT SODA. The carbonation and fizz is every bit as satisfying as you’d hope it to be. Hubby and I love soda and this is just so exciting to us that we never have to buy another one again. On top of it all, plain water doesn’t get that weird seltzer aftertaste the store bought stuff has, but still has all the carbonation. I’ve been wanting to make cocktails and homemade sangria and carbonating that stuff is going to make life a loottt more enjoyable. All that being said, we just make some carbonated plain lemon water and also Diet Coke using the soda stream flavor syrups and always keep a couple stocked in the fridge in the drinkmate plastic bottles. This thing is so satisfying and I cannot stress enough how this thing should be in every home.

We use it a lot...hope it lasts.
This is great if you want to carbonate water OR already prepared drinks/juices. I've carbonated iced tea and lemon water and I made my own vodka soda. It's fun, easy to use. and works quickly and well. However, the co2 cartridge keeps unscrewing on its own after a couple uses, and I have to re-tighten it. This is not hard to do, but it is just something I should not have to do. I've decided to use packing tape to tape the cartridge to the body of the unit to keep it from spinning/unscrewing. As you'd probably expect, the unit is made of a light weight, rigid plastic that does not feel very durable. After reading the reviews I bought the extended warranty, so I don't feel so bad about it feeling kind of cheap. So far so good. We've used it for nearly a month...daily or more often. It works..works well with that one annoying issue. Maybe your's won't unscrew itself all the time.

Great product. Carbonation with less sugar!
Had it for weeks, use it 3+times per day mainly carbonating water then adding a squirt of liquid drink mix from the drink mix isle. Lemonade, fruit punch, grape, orange and mixed berry are my favorites. I also occasionally use the typical soda syrups, and I know that if I use drink mix powders instead, to add powder very slowly to carbonated water or else it'll bubble over quickly. I managed to buy 10 full carbonation canisters for $4.05 each at a store that sells overstocks. What can I say, I'm a bargain hunter. Very simple learning curve to using the DrinkMaster. Drinking carbonated water is better for you so say some doctors on the internet. I'm not going back to the high sugar sodas at fast food places. My bottles of choice is reusing 1 litre sports drink bottles and I discovered that if I carbonate a liter of water before bed, it's still carbonated sufficiently in the morning to add my squirt of liquid drink mix and go. I recommend this product over the competition for its extra utility value of being able to carbonate other drinks than just water.

Heavy soda drinkers should look elsewhere
This product failed for me due to my use case. If I were to occasionally need to make a carbonated beverage once a week, perhaps with its construction, it might last long enough to deliver as advertised. In that case it would get one more star on my review but not over come how cheaply made this product is for the price. For transparency, I drink a lot of soda - three to four liters a day. When I saw that my favorite soda drink maker had syrup for these systems, instance soda makers like DrinkMate and its competitor, I was hooked on the cost saving potential and the reduction of plastic recycling bottles. I first bought the competing brand and to save even more money and the adapters to hook it up to a 5lb CO2 cylinder obtained from my local brew store. The competitor brand lasted 3 weeks before the main seal failed at the quick release fitting. DrinkMate supported a screw fitting I thought would be much better. It worked once, yes just one time before I was unable to trigger the gas release pin through the button push. I do find blame for the cheap plastic in all these systems for a purchase north of $100. It costs I am sure 10% that to manufacture. For serious soda drinkers, pony up all the additional costs and get a Kegarator with a CO2 cylinder and corney kegs that you can get through your local home brew shops. They carbonate water naturally under 30 lbs pressure over a few days and is a lot less fussy. I spent $500 dollars between, both this brand, its competitor, and the adapters for a process that was flawed to begin with.

Small footprint, big carbonation
I did a lot of research before going with the drinkmate. A few things that made me pick it over other brands and models- -No need to be plugged in so it can go anywhere on the counter -Small footprint which is great when counterspace is already limited -you can carbonate things other than water, recarbonate flat drinks, or make fancy cocktails/cocktails with it so the carbonation is distributed throughout the entire drink as opposed to just the water -distribition of carbonation is high and even -ease of use and maintenance, you just click it on and press a button a couple of times It really has delivered on all key points, we bought extra bottles and keep them in the fridge and ready, I hand wash as needed and so far it's been great we have carbonated things other than water and it has performed extremely well and cleaning and maintaining it is super easy. We have had no issues clicking on and off the carbonation head which I saw can be difficult with some other brands. Over all I would go with the drinkmate again and again.

Simple, customizable fizzy water
I've had this drink carbonator for 3 months now, and made probably close to 200 liters of water with it. Still working excellently - would recommend it to anyone looking for a simple, easy to use carbonator. No bells or whistles, just press the button as many times as you need to achieve your desired fizz level. All the parts seem durable. I got the Drinkmate bottles to go with it and really like the chunky lids and simple styling, though I do sort of wish they came in some more fun colors! Now, the nitty gritty. I see a lot of reviews for pretty much every similar sort of machine complaining that folks bought it to save money, and then found they were spending the same amount because the CO2 canisters do not make as many liters are they say. To this, I counter: when you buy a bag of potato chips it says it has like 17 servings, but you really finish it in 4, amirite? It's the same thing. The canisters/machine aren't defective, you just want more carbonation than the minimum serving size. My family pretty much exclusively drinks carbonated water, and we like it quite fizzy, so we get about 20-25L from each carbonator. And I'm totally okay with that. We bought the machine to save waste and for convenience rather than money savings, and it definitely lives up to those expectations. No more wasted plastic bottles, no more having to go to the store to get more water. We exchange our carbonators at Target and get the new ones from half the price, so we save on waste material and cost there as well. Plus, you get to customize how much fizz you want, what flavor/how much flavor, etc. Totally love this little machine and regret not getting one sooner!
