One of the best apsc standard zoom lens
Pros : Sharp images Fast autofocus Small and convenient to carry Value for money Almost zero noise at ISO100 in most well lit conditions Cons : Not as sharp as the famous Sigma primes Distortion and fringing at around 18mm and 50mm respectively Bokeh is good but not very circular No stabilisation, need tripod if the camera its used with also lacks IBIS

The most affordable high quality zoom lens for Sony APS-C cameras
I own the Sigma trio (16mm F/1.4, 30mm F/1.4, 56mm F/1.4) and they're all excellent fast lenses but it's a pain to carry all three with you and switch between them all the time when you're out travelling and don't have the time to do all that. If you'd rather carry just one versatile lens and don't expect it to be razer sharp like prime lenses and don't expect to pay a bomb for it, then this is the best lens money can buy for Sony APS-C sensor cameras right now. Tamron is maybe a close second, but their 17-70mm F/2.8 is much larger and heavier (although it does have vibration compensation) and not to mention, considerably more expensive (around 15K more) Sure, the 18-50mm F/2.8 DC DN doesn't have any sort of camera/hand shake compensation but that's a small price to pay (especially if you have a in-body stabilized camera like the A6600 or have a gimbal or use a tripod). Some stabilization would've been nice but then the lens wouldn't have been this ultra portable in size, super light weight and just a breeze to work with. EDIT 26-Feb-2022: I added a video of the Sigma 18-50mm lens + Sony A6400 perfectly balanced on a Ronin SC gimbal. Since the entire setup is so light, balancing this on the gimbal was completely effortless. You can probably balance a lot more (mic + a small light) with this setup. Vortex/360 mode was also super smooth with this combo balanced on the SC. Image quality wise, it's F/2.8 so it's not the fastest lens out there but it's way better than the competition, especially for a zoom lens. Images are STILL tack sharp in many cases, even in low light and even at the widest aperture. There's some noticeable chromatic aberration but nothing that can't be explained away as artistic expression. Lol. I'm still going through this lens and will be taking it with me on several trips and add more photos to this review in time but since I'm cooped up at home right this moment, I don't have a lot more to say at this point. All things considered, Sigma didn't disappoint, not one bit. They make superior lenses that are sharper and faster and cost less than their competition. What's not to like about that? NOTE: All photos of the Sony WF-1000XM4 were taken using the Sigma 18-50mm at 50mm using a Sony A6400. More/different photos to come later. EDIT 26-Feb-2022: Added some more photos taken with the Sony A6400 and Sigma 18-50mm lens

Exceptional Sharpness and Clarity in a Compact Zoom Lens
The Sigma 18–50mm f/2.8 DC DN is a huge upgrade over my kit lens. The sharpness is immediately noticeable, and the overall clarity and color rendering are excellent. The constant f/2.8 aperture performs beautifully in low light and gives smooth background blur. It’s compact, fast, and delivers professional-quality results.

Best walkaround zoom lens for Sony crop sensor camera
Pros -Super light to carry -Amazing auto focus. -Fast aperture for a zoom lens. -Good colour vibrance. -Sharp enough to use a 60% image crop. -Good build quality (not the best but -sturdy). -Has a weather sealing at the end of the lens, so dust and moisture is unlikely to affect camera too much. -Dont have to change between multiple lenses when travelling (i.e., one lens gives a value of multiple prime lenses, albeit with little bargain on sharpness/subject seperation) -Pretty cheap in terms of cost of ownership. Cons -Lacks in lens stabilization. -Bokeh not as smooth as a prime lens but manageable. -Some lens distortion when shot in RAW, particularly at the extreme focus lengths 18mm and 50mm - barrel, pin cushion, chromatic aberration - but can be corrected in post. In JPEG, Sony corrects the distortions in camera so not an issue at all. Overall: Fantastic lens to have in your kit. It's currently my go to kit, even when going to cover professional obligation.

A worthy investment
It's good lens. Purchased for 42k for my A6600 only concern is lack of image stabilization. But its good a lens. Good build quality and optical quality.

The perfect compact lens
The best lens to aquire. Very small and compact. Very fast auto focus. F2.8. Its a compact setup with my a6600. Use a uv filter for safety. Very much recommended.

My ZV-E10 pairs with this lens 90% of the time, shows how versatile it is. It's reasonably sharp for a small zoom lens. The weight and size are the main reasons I got it over the Sony and Tamron. As a beginner I felt the most important thing is taking camera out and use it, it's difficult to do so with heavier and bigger lens.

This is absolutely one of the best lenses you can get for in APS C camera. It's basically equivalent to 28-75mm in full frame. With the constant aperture of F/2.8. So it allows a good amount of light in and is great because of the constant aperture, compared to variable ones. The build quality is very nice. It seems pretty well built. Although this is their contemporary series, it still feels premium. One of the best things is the light weight and small size compared to the full frame lenses I used to use. It makes it much more light to carry around, and makes me want to go out and shoot more. Very sharp, with nice Bokeh. Overall, I would give this lens an 8.5/10 or more; probably a solid 9.
