Lorre should end Men with season 8!
I purchased season 8 and I am glad that Amazon cut the price, $44 was ridiculous for 16 episodes and a season that has no closure. My wife and I have been fans of this show for several years. I am dying of relapsing progressive Multiple Sclerosis and this show has been a really enjoyable treat for the two of us. My wife and I are also writers and we are both baffled by how Chuck Lorre and Lee Aronsohn are going to re-write a hit show created around Charlie Sheen. In one of Chuck Lorre's famous vanity cards he spoke eloquently of creating Two and a Half Men and finding a star that was humble and funny and how he assembled a cast that is the end all be all for his vision. Now going into the 9th season of Two and Half Men those good feelings of appreciation for Charlie Sheen, without whom these two men would have had yet another failed pilot as Lorre talks about in his vanity cards after Dharma & Greg had been canceled. Will attempt to recreate a show that is fully matured and created for the forty something generation by bringing in a 32 year old kid. What could this child have in common with Alan, (Jon Cryer), Berta, (Conchata Ferrel) Evelyn, (Holland Taylor) Jake, (Angus T. Jones) Rose ( Melanie Lynskey) Judith, (Marin Hinkle) Herb (Ryan Stiles)? How do they integrate into a mid forty and over cast a character named "Raymond"( Ashton Kutcher) who was born in 1979? a 32 year old kid, what does he have in common with this cast of characters who are searching for meaning in middle age? He is closer in age to Jones than any other member of the cast.Granted, Ashton Kutcher is married to Demi Moor who was born in 1962 and is 17 years older than Kutcher but he does not have 20 plus years of life experience, nor can he act. He found fame on that 70's show, and while the title of the show and its wardrobe and sets where 70's the show dealt with current issues for Kutcher's age group. The show did not have the following of matured and life seasoned viewers as Men does. The bottom line is Lorre and Sheen had a falling out. Lorre is now fighting for his television life by attempting to replace an eight season character (Charlie Harper) who is loved by millions a 45 year-old lush and womanizer who has moments of clarity and wisdom and a quick wit and Cynicism.....with a kid.Lorre and Aronsohn completely "kill" Charlie Harper the nucleolus of their hit series just to try to grab a few extra bucks. It is not about the show or the audience in my opinion this is sheer greed on the part of Lorre to grab every buck he can and exploit the fine actors that have helped to make him a very wealthy man.I can't see any way that it will work or that the audience that has supported this wonderful show that their generation could relate to and understand its complex humor is going to accept this situation. As a writer he should be true to his craft and end the show instead of running it into cancellation by CBS. Lorre has other hit shows on CBS he should focus on those and let this show end with dignity.

Two and A Half Men Season 8 - My two cents worth
Let's remain objective. Facts: 1. This was a great show. 2. It ended up in a bad note. It is a pity that there was conflict between the cast and the producers. However, the producers decided to pull the show, affecting not only the cast, but the viewers, and the consumer should not suffer for it. I agree with a previous reviewer who asked, why should we pay full price for a shortened season. Let's do the math. According to Amazon.com, the MSRP for a 22-episode season of Two and a Half Men is 44.98 (see previous seasons), that is approximately $2.05 per episode. Now, there were only 16 episodes in season 8, that should add up to $32.80 at the most ($2.05 x 16). Also, I love Amazon, but if they are charging $27.49 for previous seasons (see seasons 5, 6, and 7) which is 61% of MSRP, then it follows that they should also charge 61% of the MSRP for this season, which should be no more than $20.01 for pre-ordering. That would be a fair price for this product. At this point, this item at $38.49 is overpriced, specially for pre-ordering, when consumers are supposed to have an advantage for being on the cutting edge. Hope someone is listening. Two and a Half Men was a wonderfully coocky show, and I would like to complete my collection, but I will buy this product at a later date when the price is right.Update: Have you noticed that Amazon has lowered the pre-order price to $29.99. Good for you Amazon! I know you care about your customers. However, all the other seasons are down to $18.99 at the most. Now, bring down the price of this season another $11, and I am in. :)Charlie, without you the show is dead. Charlie, Jon, Angus, and Rose thank you for so many years of laughter and some incredibly funny situations. I will enjoy watching my DVDs over and over again. Wishing you well. Mari

Two and a Half Men with Angus Young Jr. as Jake, and Charlie Sheen
Two and a Half Men was really funny when Charlie Sheen was in his role on the sitcom, and Angus Young was also priceless as the young kid. Charlie of course did a terrible thing reciting his own anger at one of the producers. Anybody, technical people or actors, that you definitely do not offend a producer of a show. I half wonder if Charlie and Angus knew that Angus' age would make him not a little kid anymore, and the show would not be nearly as funny, so they made a pact-decision with one of the producers of the TV show. Charlie would be upset, he would be fired from the show, Angus didn't have to be on the show nearly as much, and the show would deal with the outcome of any "shenanigans" that the public might perceive happened. In my opinion maybe, that one of the producers wasn't really mad, Charlie didn't really offend one of the producers, and the show has gone on regardless of how Charlie's' character would be "eliminated" from the cast. I have not liked the show since. It's not nearly close to being funny anymore, which is probably what the producers, Angus, and Charlie knew it would be, and they decided to make a "disaster" of Charlie's character going away, dying as it was made.

The true "last" season of 2.5 Men!
The last season with Charlie Sheen, who can't be topped. (Sorry, Ashton.) Although there are fewer episodes than the full season, they are well worth watching. It feels bittersweet knowing that these were the last episodes of the onscreen magic created by Sheen, regardless of offscreen drama. It's just not the same without him. This 8th season completes my Two and a Half Men series.

2 1/2 Men - Season 8
I love the comedy in this show - very broad and appeals to everyone. Although most people find it to be about Charlie, I prefer Alan and think he is actually the main character. I bought every season. The price is way better than retail and the shipping was fast and easy. Great Value - great product!
