Great Migrations Whales (National Geographic Kids Readers, Level 3): As Seen on the National Geographic Channel

This was a gift and all reports conclude that this book was a favorite. It was challenge to read, but not too hard for the student to understand and enjoy.

I really like that National geographic sticks to the facts in this book. We believe in the infallible nature of scripture including the Genesis history. I understand that not everyone feels the same. So, as a publisher they have a dilemma. They could solve this in two ways...1 offend one group of people or 2 document as many observable facts about whales as possible in an age appropriate manner. They chose the latter option and thus I have bought many more children's books for my kids.

When you hear your kid come to you and marvel about how deep the whale can dive, you know you bought the right book. This book is informative and filled with many good pictures of different kind of whales. Not just my boy, I like this book too!

My four and a half year old son is in love with whales right now. In particular he wants to see pictures of whales. We got him this book for Christmas as a part of a whale themed package and I have to say it's great. There are lots of pictures and because it's geared for a young reader it a fairly short book so we are able to read it to him. I will note however that this book it only about sperm whales which worked great for us since he's interested in learning about all whales. However, if you are looking for a book that covers multiple types of whales you may want to keep on looking.

I love all of the National Geographic Kids books! The text, maps, charts, information, and pictures are all so beautiful! This particular one- Whales, is fabulous! I have to credit this series for helping my students move on from 4 and 5-letter words to sounding out trickier words.

We own a child care center and kids from 3-5 LOVE this book!! They want it read over and over!!!! This is also a wonderful gift to a 5 year to 6 year...... that loves WHALES!!! Super!!!!

Love these national geographic books for kids. The price is very enticing. The book is informative and filled with beautiful pictures. National geographic books are good for educating children without them getting bored. Whenever we read this book my son always has lots of questions and is very involved in finding out what happens next.
