This company is one of the best I have ever encountered in its customer support department
After 30 years of owning two original contemporary Marcel Breuer Wassily style chairs, a 5-inch wide piece of full grain leather belt supporting one of the Wassily chair backside was split open at the aluminum frame mount due to age and maintenance neglect (See photo 1). The chair was unusable as a result. I contacted a number of leather furniture repair shops but none wanted to take this on since the leather is a large piece of full grain belt leather. To save the chair my sole option is to find ways to repair the thick leather belt on my own. After toying with a number of ideas I decided to bond another piece of leather to the inner portion of the split full grain leather belt with Tear Mender adhesive to rejoin the split leather pieces into one continuous piece of leather (See photo 2). Once the bond is fully cured the full grain leather belt will support the load of the back of a person sitting on the chair. The next step is to find a leather repair kit to repair the 5-inch gap. There are a number of companies who offer leather repair kits. I came across Doctor Leather of JamPro Ltd who offers a leather repair kit with extra adhesives and extra touch up paints which I thought I would need due to the size of the repair (See photo 2). The price of the kit is competitive to others as well even with extra items. This company has supportive reviews as well. The company web site shows an informative video on what steps to take to repair damaged leather. It appears to be a company located in the States since the product description is written with proper English. I took a chance to order the kit from JamPro to complete the final repair. JamPro was highly supportive of my effort to repair the split and cracked leather belt. Emails were responded to relatively quickly, within 24 hours or sooner. When I requested for additional filler and color paint due to the larger area (See Photo 2 and 3) that I needed to repair JamPro did not hesitate to direct Amazon to send more so I could complete the repair. This company is one of the best I have ever encountered in its customer support department. I would rate this company with a 6th star if that is available. I wish all companies apply this type of customer support process to their company manual to better serve their customers. The complete repair is shown in Photo 4. My experience in using this product is that one has to have patience to layer the filler adhesive, let it dry then apply more as necessary. I find that the final touch to smooth everything out is to use one’s finger to apply the final filler adhesive, with a light swipe at places of interest. Although I was not able to match the exact shade but I am satisfied with what the repair turned out.

May work on small repairs
Does the job but I have a suggestion to make. While using on a small burn mark not a hole but an indent to fill in. After using and it dries I used rubbing alcohole to even out and dull the shine a bit. It took me several attempts due to the material has a texture a grain pattern little bumps like. The repair was flat no texture and stood out big time. I a small 16 gage wire stripped one end and would dab the copper wire in the product and lightly dab on mixture making high and low spots in repair area for texture. They added some small naugahyde pieces of material with different texture patterns or buy some patches maybe and apply material let it get tackey then place material grain side facing repair area lightly press down and leave alone about an hour peel off and it will leave the pattern on repaired area let dry 5 more hours buff with clean cloth and rubbng alcohol until flush with existing area around repair I did this before with a different kit and just repaired my mercedes black passenger seat not the back rest area the seat and dead center it happened 1 week before turning in my 3 year lease the only damage, but never seen a solid repair and no big seat repair cost. Trick take your time and get naugahyde to create a pattern.

Great product, exceeding my expectations
I bought this product because I had some cuts and scratches on my leather sofa and it’s such an amazingly comfortable one that I didn’t want to throw away. I was pleasantly surprised how wonderful this repair turned out. The cuts were 1 inch and 2 inches, for one I used the backing material for the other I just connected the pieces together with the adhesive in place, under the hot air of the hairdryer. I used thin layers of adhesive with 15 min in between the applications until the pieces came together in a line. I applied the adhesive than used the sponge to distribute it evenly. (I also used the sponge in other different areas of the couch, where it was just worn out a bit, swiping some adhesive all over those areas with the sponge and later with some paint, to avoid future breaks). After it was all dry to the touch I went on to apply the color. I was a little stressed about getting the right color, I tried white and yellow but it was too yellowish for my cream off white couch. The yellow is very bright and even if I used a tiny bit it seemed like it was too much. Then my husband suggested we add a bit of brown to what I already had (white and bit of yellow combo) and we got the perfect match. I applied the color with the color applicator and used the sponge only around the sealed cut. I used 3 layers, with 15 min in between applications, using a hairdryer, until I could not see the line formed by the connected pieces. I tried using the leather sample included to give my repair a leather texture but I just didn’t find a use for it, maybe I did not use it right, so the next day I used the sand paper swiping it around the cut a few times and got a smooth finish. Being so happy with the results I went on and used the product to fix a vinyl mattress and a wallet, also with great results. Now I am just looking around the house to find new stuff to fix. I wish I would have bought this earlier but I never thought these things actually work. This kit is amazing and I am very happy with this purchase. This is the first product of this kind I used, I am usually good at crafting, but I also think the materials included are great to work with, there is plenty of color and I found the adhesive to be very fast drying. The only thing I didn’t use was the leather texture, but my couch looks great without it. Thank you for a great product!
