The lock works very cleverly and is an integral part of the puzzle.. to open the box the key must be turned to the right not to the left, and once you understand this everything works perfectly! the key feels sturdy and the mechanism operates smoothly without needing to force anything the overall functionality of the box is excellent and the puzzle is well designed! highly recommended

Perfect gift! Well made and super fun but not too challenging so it’s good for most ages. We use it to keep smalls items in so it’s nice it has use after it’s solved.

This box has been an absolute discovery! My kids had a blast figuring out how to open it — it kept them totally entertained. And on top of that, it’s a perfect little jewelry box for their treasures. A total win!

EDIT: after reading my review, the seller reached out to me to offer a refund. A+ customer service, thank you. The box looks nice, the pieces move a bit stiffly at first but if you work it two or three times they should loosen up. My only complaint is the lock/key. I made sure to turn the key in the right direction but the lock was so stiff it still bent the key into a twist. I was able to straighten it out, and oil the lock, but the metal the keys made of is so soft I’m pretty sure it’s going to get bent out of shape again. At this price point I’m not expecting amazing quality, but I do at least expect it to not break on the first use
