So far so good great little asset.
I am pleased with this much needed gadget as no laptops have the drive built so has met all my needs. The drive is neat and tidy and easy to use.

Good all round player/burner.
Good solid construction, burn rate acceptable but not super fast. Plug and play worked fine on my Windows laptop but as yet haven't tried it on my MacBook pro. Sadly it does not come with software so that came as an additional cost. Once I had downloaded some software found the player easy to use but that ease was of course courtesy of the software. The additional slots for usb, cards etc might be useful but have as yet to use them. Fairly good value for money I feel.

Problem free installation.
I need to replace a cd drive which had failed. This arrived well packed and it it was installed in minutes and working. I ahve been able to transfer ads to the computer and from there to my phone so that I can listen to music anywhere I go. I am not hi tech, but this was simple to install and use.

Works fine ripping CDs
Bought this as the CD/DVD drive on the desktop PC had stopped working. I used it to rip CDs to FLAC files using dbPoweramp. It works just fine for me and I'm very happy with it.A few things to note. I first tried connecting it up with an independent USB cable and it wasn't happy with that, but it was fine using the embedded cable. The instructions recommend using a USB port on the rear of the PC; I used one on the front and it was fine. The drawer of the unit is not a substantial thing, it's quite flimsy so gentle treatment is required when inserting a disc. I didn't need to download the media player that others have recommended but that's my good fortune, as it seems to be a common recommendation in reviews here you'd do well to be aware of it. Finally, when I tried using this with a laptop it didn't work at all unless the laptop was plugged into the mains using the laptop charger cable, then all was fine.Otherwise, it's all fine. It's small and light rather than big and robust, so don't expect it to stand up to too much rough treatment. With the caveats noted, I'm happy to recommend this.

Too slow...
I purchased this BUNUD External Blu-Ray Writer Drive to replace my older well know brand External Blu-Ray Writer Drive (a brand that also makes PC motherboards). My older drive does not seem to be recognised by the new Windows 11 24H2 update, so had to temporarily roll back to Windows 10, which I used for this test. This BUNUD drive was about the same size as my older drive, but was 2-3 times its weight, so it felt good quality feel. The drive was also quiet in operation and said to be Windows 11 compatible.Unfortunately this BUNUD drive was just too SLOW when backing up a Blu-Ray movie disc. In fact my older drive backed up my Blu-Ray movie disc in "1 hour" but "23 hours" was the given completion time for the BUNUD drive. This was odd as both drives were showing as 2X read speed. I certainly was not prepared to wait "23 hours" so I had no option other than to return the BUNUD drive. So based on my testing, I cannot recommend this BUNUD drive at all. In fact, I now feel that these cheaper unknown brands are just not worth the risk. A well known brand is the best option, even if you pay a little more.
