NYPD Red 4
G**,
Murder in the midst of Glamor
The stories in the NYPD Red series have been fast-paced and enjoyable, with plenty of suspense and plot twists. This book is no exception. It begins with the murder of a glamour girl, and theft of her fortune in jewelry, in front of a crowd of New York theater-goers. The culprit disappears, leaving a city amazed at the crime. This is obviously a case for New York's elite Red detective unit, and Detectives Zack Gordon and Kylie McDonald get the assignment. Their investigation reveals that this is not a simple murder and robbery. The culprit is after far more, and the danger increases as our detectives get closer. The suspense, action, and interplay between the detectives make for a page-turner that is most satisfying.

3 cases for 1 in this book
This has been the best one in this series by far. They handle one public case, one private case, and one personal case. This story get not in-depth not only the personal sides of the heroes but also the political side. This book as in the words from Captain Cates "come down like Thor's hammer!"

Red turns orange
The first half plus of the book should be renamed, "Its all about me, signed Kylie." Kylie and Zack are the heroes of NYPD RED. But Kylie decides to make their life all about her and her stoned husband, risking Zack's life and career. It got to the point that I was very annoyed with her and her selfishness, until I realized that this was a very good development of her character. She emoted her way out of the words and annoyed this reader. The second half minus of the book was just tying up loose ends with the two crimes that NYPD RED had to deal with. The ending was, for lack of a better word, just silly. It appears to this reader that the team who writes the NYPD RED series for the James Patterson label was running on fumes. Numbers 1,2, and 3 of the series were so much better.

More Dead Than Red
Partners Zach Jordan & Kylie MacDonald, two of NYPD's elite special task force are once again assigned to not one, but two highly sensitive cases. One is a high profile robbery/murder case involving NYC's high society crowd. The other needs the utmost discretion in solving the theft of high tech equipment from multiple city hospitals. Jordan & MacDonald are on a roller coaster ride regarding these high priority cases while also trying to restore sanity in their personal lives. Another fast paced page turner from the James Patterson writing machinery. If you've enjoyed Patterson's past novels, you'll definitely enjoy this one.

Red Continues
Another great read in this series. The plot is good & fast moving and the characters are developing and it will be interesting to see where they go from here.

More exciting than the others
I enjoyed this NYPD Red the best. We got to know Zach a lot better than before. His relationship with Dr. Cheryl Robinson was explored and resolved. His relationship with his partner, Kylie, was analyzed and resolved. I think his girlfriend was extremely understanding of his absences and deserves a medal for being with him. The storyline was good but I guessed it in the beginning. Looking forward to the next Patterson book.

Kind of dull
I have red a couple of these NYPD RED titles before, but this one just didn't do much for me as far as being excitingIt was just more of the same with Spence and his drug problems. I guess these titles are dull because I started reading the Alex Cross series and everything else Patterson does is dull by comparison. I have read all of the Alex Cross series and all of The Women's Murder Club series and really enjoyed those. I think maybe I'll skip the NYPD RED's that come out! This is definitely not a page Turner!

I love the NYPD Red series
I like reading this series and try to figure out who, what and where the crimes occur and the people the Detectives are after. I thought I had the end figured out when the author tossed in another wrinkle. That is why I enjoy this series and this author anyone that enjoys trying to figure out plots like I do will enjoy this series. The two detectives Kylie and Zach are very good detectives and their off duty lives are just as interesting, keep writing these books and I will keep buying them.

Easy read
I enjoy James Patterson books, and I rarely dislike any of the main hero’s, however I don’t like the character he portrays for Kylie in his NYPD red series. I have no empathy with her and find her arrogant and self centred with no self awareness. She doesn’t possess any personality traits that I warm too, and partnered with Zach just makes him look like a doormat and a pushover. I don’t think Patterson has struck the right balance with these two characters at all. The plots to 1 and 2 were ok, 3 was slightly less intriguing and 4 I just didn’t care enough about who the bad guy was. Not sure I’ll bother with the next ones in the series, I’ll probably just stick to a couple of his stand alone books. I’m finding his series of books get a bit samey and repetitive. Disappointed on the whole.

Tried and true
Readers of Patterson's novels will recognize the style and the plotting of this book, centered around two NYPD detectives, Zach and Kylie. The setting of the novel is in the high-fashion circles of Gotham, and I found that aspect quite interesting. Of course, the interplay between the two detectives, that is, the clash of their respective neuroses, provides much grist for the authors' mill. And the dénouement surprised me, especially since I thought I'd figured it all out. For Patterson fans, and others just reading their first.

Red 4
Five hours to read this from start to finish as I didn't want to stop once I'd started, as good as 1,2 & 3! Brilliant writing from one of my favourite writers.

Loved it, fast and clever!
Really enjoying this new series, it's good to see the characters depth and watch them evolve. It not the greatest JP book ever but I loved it. No gore in the JP normal style, which made it a decent light read. It still has twists and a fast pace and will not in my opinion disappoint.
