Viper Jute or Synthetic Linen Cylinder Bite Pillow Tug Toy Reward for Adult Dogs and Puppies

So far this tug has been excellent. Not the greatest video of it in use, but usually my dog grabs it right in the middle. He is incredibly strong and any cheap tug toy will be destroyed within a minute of play. This toy is made up of a jute cylinder with leather on the ends. It has about a 6in diameter. It has two straps that are about 2ft in length and they are made up of a rubberized nylon webbing material. I usually use a regular shaped bite pillow, but I thought I would try a cylinder one this time. I think I prefer this shape, the handles/straps are made up of the rubberized strapping material so they’re easy to hold, tie together (untying is difficult lol!), and it’s easier for the dogs to avoid the straps while playing. I usually have to cut two of the handles off my bite pillows because they tend to grab onto the rope handles, which only leaves one rope handle left, and the rope material is super easy to chew through, so a minute or two on the ground and I have a useless plain jute pillow lol. I also like the amount of stuffing in it, despite it being quite large, it compresses nicely to a bite, so I’m not worried about damage to my dogs teeth and my larger dogs have no issue grabbing it. I would say this toy may not work if you have a dog with a soft mouth or a small mouth. My 35lb poodle is still learning the ropes of tug and she cannot properly bite down on this thing. She also struggles with a regular bite pillow. If you have a smaller dog with a great grip I suspect they would have no issue, but alas my poodle has the traditional soft mouth of her breed, and ropes are more suitable for tug for her. So far it’s held up excellently to a large 105lb Chessie and my 70lb Dalmatian with no signs of wear. I still would not plan on leaving this tug on the ground, and only use it during a tug session to protect the straps from being chewed. These straps can take a bit more of a beating than the rope with the plastic tubing found in many bite pillows, but I still suspect they would be chewed through rather quickly if given the opportunity. So far it’s been a great hit and is excellent sturdy quality.

I got the Viper bite pillow for my 90-pound German Shepherd. She loves it! It is very sturdy and fun for her to play with. She tears most toys to shreds but this has been able to withstand her strong teeth!

Really happy with the bite roll, especially for the price. Makes a great reward while training. I appreciate the length of the handles since my dog rags so hard and I need to be mindful since I am hypermobile. Would recommend and would buy again.

This pillow is not for police dogs or working dogs. Puppies, maybe, but not dogs. I have only use it as a bite reward and never unattended or played with and the handles almost immediately started to fray. Had to trim and burn to keep it from unraveling completely. The pillow itself is ok, but not the handles

My dog loves this barrel jute. I use it as a throw out for IGP training. It also works great for bite training to ensure dog gets a full grip.

You couldn't tell how big it was by looking at it but it was huge but so far looks quality made.

This is great bite pillow for dogs of all training levels. I would advise you don't leave your dog with it because they will eventually tear it up. It's meant to be used with the handler and then put away. Love it.

This is a great pillow & all dogs love it. I ordered it for a few reasons. I use it as a reward for barking and my helper can also use it when not giving a sleeve bit, just click a clicker and toss this out of from behind his back- dogs get a naturally full grip, it's big and round and naturally fills their mouths. This will also be my competition dogs send out toy. She loves it, right now I'm hanging it on a send out pole, but it could easily be lowered to 6 " above the ground.
