Is a nas required or can this be directly connected to a pc?

I have mine directly connected to PC and works great. The only reservation I have is when directly connected you end up using Windows Storage Space which I am not experienced with. Absolutely follow the posted recommendation for ORICO USB PCI-E Card, USB 3.2 Gen 2 Internal Expansion Card,Type C PCI-Express 4X to USB 3.2 and make sure you use 3.2 C to C cable you will get blindly fast results. Mine is faster than my workstation with NVMe discs. Have 7 18TB discs installed now and fully loaded with movies and wow.

Does this device work with ubuntu?
