By definition installation is kind of custom and depends on your situation, door, location, etc. Installation wasn't that difficult but you'll want to study all the stuff they include. There is hardware inside to install this 20 different ways and a bunch of permutations. They product quality is quite literally stunning. This has held up for a few months with no adjustment on a door that is opened several hundred times a day - into and out of a service department. People bump into this door with equipment, come running through the door, slam the door, kick the door, and generally abuse it. This has held up admirably. I believe it's rated for 1 million cycles and I firmly believe that this will still be functioning long after the building has fallen down around it.

We purchased this a few months back for use on our exit to the beach. We have had a problem controlling the closing of that door because of frequent high winds. This worked better than any we have tried over the years in closing consistently without slamming. When we had an issue with this loosing hydraulic fluid two months in, the vendor immediately sent a replacement. I will be ordering these closers for all of our heavy doors going forward.

The plastic cover arrived with a little crack but didnt want to go through the trouble of returning it. The unit is heavy and solid, should be a good one. However, after a week of using it, the closing became really rough. A click sound could be heard as the door closing in. Did all kind of adjustments but still no help.

This door closer, while a bit pricey, is a quality product. I've installed less expensive closers, but you truly get what you pay for with this type of product. The templates included didn't match perfectly with my door, but I've done this quite a few times and figured it out. Overall its a good choice.
