Mechanical dimensions were not clearly specified but the stem appeared much longer on pictures, see what it really looks like on the picture. With a stem that short, it won’t avoid frags falling on its side. The stem as stabilizer become useless at this point, I had to return it. But the quality was good, simply not the same as pictured.

These frag plugs look great, are made of durable material and are the perfect size for smaller coral frags & colonies. The color of these plugs is closer to crushed coral and they don't really stand out unless you have coralline algae already. The plugs feature a small indentation on the surface to increase the glues surface area. These plugs offer functionality & form for any reef tank. Overall: +Easy to Use +Quality Material

I finally broke down and bought a stock of plugs. I really like the features of this very simple item. The indent in the center allows me to pool a small amount of glue in which I can set the frag into. On larger frags, the glue holds well in the ridges on the top. Best value that I could find in a small frag plug.

I really liked the "grip" on the surface of these plugs. Good size and the glue really stuck the frags on (maybe I've been using the wrong glue, but this stuff worked great.)

These were a good purchase for the price. What I did not appreciate at the time of purchase was how difficult these plugs would be to cut. I initially used bone cutters and subsequently tried a diamond wheel on my Dremel to cut them. If you are planning on breaking off the frag from the mount before adhering it to the rockwork, this is no issue. If on the other hand you are working with encrusters, you might want to consider plugs made with softer material that is more easily cut. Lastly, they fit a little loosely in my frag racks.
