Useful in trimming large squares

If you have a 16,5 square to square up, this ruler is perfect. So many points to help you make sure square is centered.

This has been a lifesaver in doing my quilt blocks. Makes them so much easier to set up the design on my blocks for the appliqué. Definitely worth the price for me.

This was pricey, but it does the job well and will be well used.

Sewing

I think if you are simply cutting 16.5” blocks, this is a good ruler. If you are measuring and cutting with this ruler, I find the markings very difficult to use. There is a built in 1/4” seam allowance marked all the way around the outside. This means if you line up on the 14.5” mark on the ruler, by using the edge, you are actually cutting on the 14.75” mark. You can compensate by moving over 1/4” from where you want to cut, but the dots on the smaller measurements are so hard to see, it’s very difficult. I’ve just ordered the creative grids of the same size. I should have done that in the first place.

My wife says that this greatly simplifies her life. She spends a lot of her free time sewing and this by far is the most useful tool that she uses.
