The locking handles for the extension legs are plastic and the locking nuts are not tight enough to hold the legs with nothing even mounted on top. The strap that wraps around the base to hold the legs together was broken. It was a manufacturer defect. I use a bungee cord to keep the legs together during transport. The cardboard box it ships in isn’t sufficent alone for shipping. the sharp dirt points on the bottom of the feet will likely bust through the box during shipping.

This is a replacement for one I had for 15 - 20 years, but with improvements. Original plastic fittings gave out in the harsh west Texas sun, and the new one is all metal. I expect it to outlast me.

As advertised, sturdy construction. You may have to increase the tension on the camlocks on the legs, but if you know which end of a wrench does what, you won't have any trouble with that. This is an OUTDOOR tripod, the pointed metal tips on the legs would not work well indoors.Does what a tripod is supposed to do, and does it well. 5 STARS!

I wanted to like this, came packed upside down in box with significant dent in aluminum pole leg - obviously someone else's reject being foisted on next sucker. Prime allowed for return. I was too disgusted to exchange.Top plate area much smaller than my heavy duty wooden legs.
