Surprisingly excellent for the price
I shopped around for my first Kalimba, and picked this one based on its declared specifications and it's low price. Not disappointed at all. It's nicely made, actually quite beautiful in its own way, made of mahogany with a nice laser-engraved design. It's a lovely thing to hold; it feels light yet solid and the smooth wood is pleasantly tactile. The tines seem to be stainless steel. One was a bit loose and buzzy (I understand this is a common issue with Kalimbas) so I needed to adjust that by bending the tine a little. As delivered, it was a little out of tune, but this too is probably to be expected after transportation. There are various free apps you can download for you phone to tune it. Tuning is pretty easy once you get the hang of it, and takes about 10 minutes. The sound is very good and clear, only the very highest tines seem to lack sustain, but I think this is just part of the nature of the instrument too. Maybe some other Kalimbas are better but I haven't tried one to compare. It's very easy to play and learn, and all in all, I love this instrument.

Feels sturdy and sounds beautiful, the higher notes are slightly muted but other than that a great purchase and made for a lovely Christmas present loved by all

Tinny toy
Just a toy, a poor tone, out of key on several notes. Didn't expect much for the price,but still very disapointing. Was for a young grandchild, now gifting to a charity shop.

Kalimba de marque Lekato, donc, très joli son, doux et robuste à la fois! J'enlève une étoile pour la note aigue! MI, la toute dernière note, car elle est trop dure à jouer et le son a du mal à sortir! Mais tout de même, le son sort quand même... C'est très rare d'ailleurs de se servir de cette note là, et heureusement... J'ai fait une petit démos en vidéo, avec l'accord d'Amazon évidemment!
